I don’t watch Chicago really but looking at his numbers, he isn’t the greatest offensively. However Nurse can be the puck mover on the pair and Murphy can clean up the back end so it could be a net gain for the teams puck moving ability.

Bowman NEEDS to find a goalie, it probably won't be a high end, big name guy, but he needs to add an option. The goalies have struggled most of the year, and you can see that the team doesn't trust them. Sure, lots of the issues come from poor team defence, they are part of the problem for sure, but this team needs a goalie.

I get that not much is out there, so, get creative. Look at the AHL, look for any team out of the playoffs, find a guy, even if it's a long shot, go for it. Show your team that at least you are trying. The Oilers don't have an option in the AHL, neither look even close to being NHL calibre right now. Even if you have to overpay, get a goalie, maybe, at the very least it motivates Stu, maybe not, but at least get another option. The bar set by our tandem is not that high, is it crazy to believe that an unproven goalie for the AHL, who hasn't gotten a shot in the NHL yet, could be better than Stu/PIcks? Find a guy or 2 who you feel could be an option, and make a deal.

What about Mike Diepietro in Boston? They have their goalie of now and the future in Swayman, maybe, if you overpay, you could pry him out of Boston and take a gamble on him if our guys continue to struggle. What's the worst that could happen? he fails too. To me, it's a gamble worth taking.

That’s the thing I don’t get. Quite a few saying “Hell no to Gibson” based on a few bad years but ignoring Dallas Eakins was their coach as they headed towards a rebuild and they had the worst GA in the NHL. Binnington though, gets the thumbs up because of a 4-game tournament. The only major difference is the health, complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

Gibson also plays really well against top teams, but his doubters are citing performances in previous seasons as if it matters one iota compared to how someone is performing this season. If Skinner was playing as well as he did two seasons ago we wouldn't be in this mess.

They do when fully healthy but right now Siegenthaler and Hamilton are both out so they needed a body. This probably means Nemec becomes a scratch since he's been underwhelming and they run with:

Hughes-Pesce
Dillon-Casey
Dumoulin-Kovacevic
Nemec

It will get interesting when the D start to return, but the deadline will have passed by then so Casey and Nemec probably go both down to the AHL.
