Count me as not excited about Mario Ferraro lol. I don't really understand the point of moving assets for 7-8 defenceman. These aren't players that help your team if injuries strike, because they will struggle with any increased responsibility. The upside is so low.

Take whatever you were going to spend on that kind of depth, and add it into whatever package you're using to get a good player, who can push others down.

If you know your team has average goaltending then you can't play an irresponsible defensive game that allows your opponent multiple high quality looks that would find the back of the net even with a hall of fame goalie between the pipes.

By the same token, the goalie should not be expecting the players to bail them out every game.

Again, nobody is saying the goalies need to save every HDCA; we just ask them to save most of them. With our pair, and especially Sewer Skinner, it doesnt matter if its HDCA or LDCA, shots go in all the time.

IIRC, the team has been top 5 for most of the year as far as advanced stats go that measure defensive metrics. All that and our goalies are still treading below water statically and visually.
