Part of the bolded is due to poor positioning by the Oilers forwards in the D zone. The D have very few options and end up giving it away or eating it.

I agree though that it doesnt hurt to have dmen that have some offence to their game.
I havent seen Walman play but his numbers look pretty good especially considering he is on a bad team.
