I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Lajoie 9 games and then sent him down and brought up Wolanin. I'm pretty sure they wanted to give Wolanin the message that he needs to be clearly better than other guys to make the team and I think he'll step up in Bingo.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Boucher dress 7 D on most nights.

Boucher needs to stop dressing 7 D. He should have been given the directive to stop this.

Throwing the lines in a blender every other game, coupled with guys skating with different people every game because we only have 11 forward dressed is so stupid. It was a huge issue last year.

I agree.

Don't see that changing but here's hoping.

Don't see thay chaging but here's hoping.
I know I would be pissed off if my line was changing or I was skating with different guys multiple times every game.

Get some lines together and let them gel. None of this blender shit.

Let the best players play with the best players. I've never been a fan of spreading the offense out (Hoffman/Stone on 3rd line, moronic....), especially when you have so little offense like us.

Please explain why he was waved for performance reasons and placed on the NHL roster with links from mgmt to back up your claim.

Buddy, YOU said waived for performance reasons ........ I said he was waived to hopefully shed his contract.

OR, do you mean they waved at him?

7 D made sense when our 4th line was absolute garbage. One of the few redeeming qualities about our current roster is we seem to have enough forwards to make a decent 4th line.

... because the "performance reasons" part of the explanation behind Smith's waiving was the baldest of bald-faced lies.

I mean, technically, if he performed better, he wouldn't have been waived, because somebody would have made an acceptable trade offer. So, by that standard, performance was why we waived him, while $$$ was why we tried to get him off the team.

I wouldnt be surprised if management and/or ownership didnt give Boucher much choice. No need to have anyone being paid to sit, just throw that 7th dman on the fourth line. This was the team that would only call up players after 5:00pm so they wouldnt have to pay a full days salary.

When broken Chris Kelly is on your 4th line, I'd rather have a 7th D as a PP specialist than ever roll out the 4th line. Ideally, the 7th D is a guy who can play both positions though. Like Shubert did, though he wasn't a great dman.
We were dressing Harper and Claesson...

Then pk specialist, my point wasn't so much agreeing with when he did it (I could swear Chabot had a game or two as the 7th D) but rather that it can make sense in certain circumstances, just not now.

If it is for the long run they should let them gel no matter the results this year

Jaros should be playing ahead of Harpur and DeMelo based on camp
We do this same dance every year unfortunately. Its all just pr from the team.

They talk a big game and then let the contracts dictate who makes the team. If there's no one way deal in your way, you have a shot, otherwise pack your bags til injuries or total failure.
