It is not just you but people really need to stop suggesting this, especially in Pageau's case. It rarely ever happens and when it has happened I have hated the teams for doing it, it just seems so "in your face" to the rest of the league.

Either sign the players you want before the deadline, or trade them out and move on, none of this back room mafia type deals.

I really dont need you to tell me what will or wont happen because you have no idea just like I do not. My point is to trade the assets that are easily replaceable and thats exactly what Namestinikov is. How do you know he wont come back here? Maybe he gets traded and it doesnt go well so he wants to sign with Ottawa because he is now a suit case that has only had success in one city. Or no other team will actually sign him and he comes back.

It would be nice if Ottawa actually did try and do something to leverage their assets instead of giving them away at a discount. Unless you agree with how poorly the assets have been handled and like finishing at the bottom of the league for going on 3 straight years.

Vancouver
To Edmonton: Namestikov LW, Tierny C & Ennis LW/RW
To Ottawa: Raphael Lavoie RW, Gagner C (cap dump) & Brodsiak C IR

To Detroit: Pageau C, DeMello RD & Balcers LW
To Ottawa: 2020 2nd rd pick (32nd), Svechnikov LW, Daley RD (cap dump) IR & Franzen LTIR

To Edmonton: Duclair LW, Brannstrom LD & Davidsson RW
To Ottawa: Evan Bouchard RD & Manning LD (cap dump)

- Ottawa can turn around & try to move Gagner, Brodziak & Daley at the deadline or just let them walk at the end of the season. Franzen's LTIR runs out this yr. The 2nd rd pick could help Ottawa get into the 1st rd should they want to move up at any time.

- Ottawa gets two young forwards in Lavoie RW (replaces Davidsson) & Svechnikov LW (replaces Balcers) for their rebuild & a top pairing RD Bouchard (replaces Brannstrom) to play with Chabot.

- Edmonton gets a complete 3rd line that can actually put up some pts that are relatively cheap & that could be resigned for next season relatively cheap. They also get another good young scoring forward to help their depth & a young defencemen & forward with good potential. Edmonton is basically a two line team & with these additions should be able to get more scoring from their bottom six.

- Detroit get a good 3rd line centre & defensive specialist in Pageau & a decent younger RD in DeMello & both could be re-signed relatively cheaply to help them rebuild. They also acquire Balcers who is a very good forward that seems NHL ready.

What on earth....that second Edmonton deal, and third overall is especially terrible. It’s geared toward specifically toward increasing positional size, while not factoring in actual proficiency as a hockey player. That’s the worst I’ve seen on here in a long time, no offence.

"Under pressure from Garrioch"
It's a bit of a joke that when Garrioch tries to pretend to be a journalist and asks questions at media availability as if the team hasn't already written his articles for him, he always asks PD if he's working on any trades.

How exactly is this trolling HFSens? I'm confused?
Basically the fun conspiracy theory on HFSens that Garrioch is an unofficial spokesman for the club. The gist is that Garrioch gets inside scoops to be published as trial balloons in exchange for puff pieces that carry water for the team.

no not both. either or.
Ah true. If the trade were to happen tomorrow, I'd consider Tierney but mostly because I think Galch could be flipped at the deadline for a 2nd + and I think that's what we should do with Tierney anyways. That said, I would put the chances of Galch succeeding with us as very very low and chances of him re-signing with us/being a guy we want to retain even lower. He's a very skilled player but lazy, unintelligent (speaking only regarding on-ice), and seems difficult to deal with off the ice. That said I've not liked him for a long long time so I may be biased but I feel like I've projected his career pretty accurately

I'm only confused because the conspiracy theory doesn't only exit in HFSens, it exists across the city, across the fanbase and probably across the league.

People said essentially the exact same things about Duclair before he got here too

Agreed, worst ive seen in a long time. The Detroit one isnt much better and makes 0 sense for them to trade for two ufas. Bouchard cant skate and is not very big, id take Brannstrom over him 1 for 1.
