I think we're screwed with Gagner, lol. Dead ends are every where.
How high are NYR on someone like Stepan?
They were proposing Stepan + good piece for Yak on main board.

Maybe not if Buffalo takes Ekblad and we have Sam Reinhart.

Yes, I'm sure Reinhart will come out of junior and be better than Gagner. We still have to find someone to take that contract. I don't think it'll be all that bad once the cap rises, but right now it's pretty ugly.

Did he? Kind of a small sample size and Mr. Monahan is slowing down a little. A lot of people go through great lengths to discredit Gagner on here. I would like the Oil to get a bigger 2C but saying Gagner has no value is not true.Monahan did

...again and again. Gags didn't have a great start to the season but came off one of his better years in the NHL. Did I mention that I am in favor of replacing him. Do you guys ever get tired of beating the same ****ing drum???well, seeing as a career AHLer is making him expendable says alot.

he is an OK C on the worst team the league. that spells not very good. even his so-called good last year he was on pace for what? 55 pts? maybe 60? I know he got about 38 points in 48 games, but he go them all in the first 20.
maybe I'm reading wrong, but if you are trying to argue that he is good you will get opposition for obvious reasons.
Simple math would say he was on pace for a very impressive 65 points actually
If it means toronto wins the cup, I'm not doing these trades.I did these trades in NHL 14:
Potter and Maricin to Boston for Adam McQuaid and Matt Fraser
Jones, Dubnyk, 2015 First to Buffalo for Ehrhoff and Enroth
Omark to New Jersey for a Fifth and a Sixth (Eat it, MacT)
Nick Schultz and a 2014 first round pick to Philly for Wayne Simmonds
Hemsky and a 2015 second round pick to Nashville for Roman Josi.
Made playoffs. Swept in first round to LA. We finished second in Pacific.
Leafs would win cup in seven games over the Phoenix Coyotes.
I just gave MacT awesome ideas for trades.

And there's the problem. Last year was, well, last year. An absolute anomaly. Now we're back to a full NHL season, where every team has gone through training camps and Gagner is playing the worst hockey of his career.
So now what?
The reality is he's a 50 point Center who's never put up 50 points in a full season. He's a bad defender, terrible at the dot and he's smaller than average, playing in the bigger, more physically demanding and better of the two conferences. Now factor in his 4.8M Cap hit and his impending NMC and you've got a perfect storm of mediocrity.
