If the Kings move Vey, I would hope it is part of a package with Bernier to acquire Brett Connolly and Tampa Bay's 1st round selection. Connolly is posting very impressive numbers in the AHL this season and Tampa's 1st could be a top 10 pick.

they gave quite a bit to get lindback. doubt they have any interest in bernier.

Lindback has been a bust for the Lightning thus far. Goes to show how you much the Preds goalies benefit from Trotz's system. At some point, they're going to lose confidence in him just as they did with Mike Smith in the past and they don't have any confidence in Garon either.

What about Andreoff? I always figured he would be the best Stoll replacement, like Clifford but a center, etc. Either him or maybe Shore, but Shore isn't really the grinder type, but could be a very skillful third liner.

I've always looked at Vey as sort of a Williams replacement. A second line right winger that is willing to grind it out a little, but more of a skillful playmaker.

That's a good point, and Andreoff has been performing well in his role with Manchester. Personally, I like Vey at center because he can control the play with his passing. He could do it at wing though as well. He is a smart player.

That's why I said IF Muzz continues to improve. I'm not saying we should trade him but that DL may trade Amart, if Muzz can get to Amart's level or close to it.

Martinez will only go if DL spots a Bouwmeester type on the market that can eat minutes like nobody's business, is attainable and is signed past this year. Otherwise he stays.

I still think trading for a big time d-man is something that should be looked into.

Amart is great, but he's our 6th dman. Believe me, if Muzz gets close to Amart's level, DL will trade Amart because he's not going to have Muzz sit on the pine.

No doubt Lombardi is looking.

But no one really wants to give up a big Minute eating Defender.

Teams want those in spades.

No thx, the Sedins made Muzzin their ***** tonight...

Kid has a lot of work before he is A-Mart.

Muzzin didn't have a great game tonight for certain but statistically speaking he was our best Dman.

He played 22:43 and was +1 (an assist) and had 2 official hits.

Scuds was in for 16:22 and was -3 and had 0 hits.

DD was in for 26:38 was -2 with 2shots and 1hit.

VV was in for 18:07 was -3 with 4shots and 4hits.

DavisD was in for 18:00 and logged 1hit and was +/- 0.

Ellerby logged the least amount of minutes 14:45 with 1shot and was +/- 0.

Ellerby and DavisD are again having lesser games for the Kings of the 3 newbies (to the regular line up).

It's almost the same situation when we dealt Quincey. He was one of our better dmen but we had young guns in our system ready to step up.

Sell high. Buy low.

Thing is I'm not sure Muzzin is ever going to be ready to step up. Statistically he has been sound but all night tonight he looked caught in a daze and especially against the Sedins. If he does, sure, you trade the guy making more money. Not until then.

Quincey was always easy to get rid of because he was an unplanned acquisition who fit in well and played at what looked like his absolute peak (which was better than A-Mart has ever played). Had to sell that asset.

unless amart is packaged there's not much he would fetch in return. maybe a rental, but with our d corps we should be adding not trading away.

Muzzin isn't supposed to be a top pairing kid though and while A Mart isn't either of the two of them Amart is clearly the superior talent.

I say keep developing Muzzin who is doing very well logging over 20mins a game and consistently a plus player and then move him before you move Amart.

I understand sell high buy low but in this case we are talking about mid level pay for slightly better than mid level talent in A mart. I would keep him.

I agree

A-Mart is never going to command top dollar, always give the team an above average performance.

A-Mart is the type of guy you keep around a long time.

I'm not even looking at Muzz' stats. I just see him playing more physical and he's got a good accurate shot. So, if he continues to improve...

Let me ask you this, let's say Muzz reaches the same level to that of Amart. What would you do? Muzz isn't going to replace Willie, Greene or Scuds. Doubt he replaces DD or VV. So, that only leaves Amart.

Amart being an RFA at the end of this season, may even sign an offer sheet forcing DL's hand. A possibility, that's all.

A-Mart still has untapped potential IMO. Muzzin's untapped potential is to be as good as A-Mart right now (maybe a little better) I think. So it is quite the conundrum. It depends on what this team intends on doing with the veteran D situation. If they plan to replace those guys with similarly paid players then maybe A-Mart should go if the team also thinks Muzzin is going to be a good third pairing D, which I'm not sold on. If not, A-Mart should stay as he would fill into a role playing more minutes better than Muzzin.

Right now it's not even a contest and Muzzin would certainly be the one to go if the reason for trading them was that we needed a spot and an opposing GM liked him as much as A-Mart.

Actually, a better question should be addressed to Amart. Is Amart going to be happy being a 3rd pairing on the kings or would he like to be a 2nd pairing elsewhere and make 2nd pairing money?

It's pretty evident that most, if not all fans are concerned about VV's pending status and not Amarts.

Not worried about any of them, they are both RFA, no one is going to offer sheet those guys....

More importantly they are not going to sign any offer sheet.

Nether guy wants to play on some bottom feeding team throwing ridiculous money around.

No contender can pay them what the Kings wouldn't match.
