point well taken in regards the number of games required for a championship. But even in the NHL, they are teams who get on runs and make it to the conference finals, finals. Nearly every year a 7 seed takes out the a 2, or in the second round, a 5-7 seed takes out the 1st seed. When dominoes start falling like that, it opens the doors for other teams. One team gets to avoid another team that they have fits with etc…
To the guys who said he is personally offend at the 1 cup in 74 years. As bad as some of sathers decisions have been. You can't say he was responsible for those 74 years and you can't say gordie clark or gorton are to blame for that. And how many times in those 74 years had the Rangers even made it to the second round. We look at it as fans and a guy like Gordie Clark looks at it, like this is his profession. If he has a team reach the conference finals and then the 2nd round the next year, in a sub-par year. He legitimately felt that way. I legitimately thought they had a terrible year. It is what it is. We really do look at things differently.
In regards to roster make-up, every year you get to add a couple players, you buyout richards, you have that money, caps going up, even with all the resigning, you still enough cash to bring in a player or two. You have prospects who you hope a couple of them push themselves onto the roster. You hope you draft roster players going forward. Just bc I want to see the Rangers keep Callahan, Girardi, AND stralman, doesn't mean I think or am saying we are a top 5 team in the league. Why does everything have to be absolutes and extremes here
