I like it. To me that says Sather is willing to go against NY sports precedent, and trade players that aren't coming back, as opposed to keeping them "to contend".
This isn't a franchise gutting move. We aren't trading Messier and Leetch. These players haven't won anything as Rangers, they aren't immortalized heroes. Fan backlash would only be sort of acceptable if this was Lundqvist, who is a generational talent. Fans can live without a grinder and an above average RHD.
Haha yup we're going to St. Louis.
The Rangers will not be a better team after trading Girardi and Callahan, especially this season.
They aren't getting Seguin in return.
I literally can't fathom the notion of getting Martin St. Louis, for Ryan Callahan. A hall of famer, two time art ross winner for a grinder UFA to be.
I'm very adamant about this happening.
Guys I been out of the loop for three weeks had life saving surgery on jan 29 and really haven't been doing much. I made some calls tonight .. Remember a month a go I put out Nash was in play
Been working a lot with wrestling again and working out when I start coughing up blood .. Turned out I had a bleeding ulcer that ruptured and was rushed in to surgery where I lost 60% of my stomach. I have lost 40 pounds in three weeks which is the good news but can't eat solid food for a minimum of six months and it's a long road to recovery.. I lost a great source of inside info when a rangers asst. coach was let go. Not naming names figure it out,, nash cally Stepan maybe in play ? Lol think of this who was just coached in the Olympics and what teams do those coaches coach in the nhl
Boomer can tease and play games but Yzerman isn't trading the player for a rental.
I refuse to believe Callahan will be any sort of crippling loss.
Girardi will be rough to replace, but it can happen.
If they aren't resigning for Sather's terms, they should be traded, and that's it in my opinion.
Lets trade Anson Carter for Jagr while we're at it.
