It's a widely held belief on HF.

You brought up his past performance, not me. I wasn't screaming for Green based on what he was. I would welcome him based on what he is though.

A fact evidenced by the obnoxious insistence in the US roster thread that Dustin Brown is a garbage hockey player.

If the deal is Stralman for Green, sign me up. But I like the way Hagelin fits on this team and am not interested in trading any of our decent young forwards, so I wouldn't include him.

But Stralman wouldn't fetch Green. RB's insistence that we need more offensive from our blueliners is well heard, but beyond tendering a short deal to Dan Boyle, which may or may not be advisable, I don't see a good fit out there. I would look to draft an offensive blueliner this offseason.

Agreed, but according to some he doesn't fit the style of play around here because apparently were not trying to play with speed and posses the puck:shakehead
Hagelin is one of the last players i'd include in a trade, not because his value is so high, but because hes a hard player to find, when he catches fire he has good streaks, but when hes not putting up points hes steady defensively and he uses his speed as good as anyone in the league.

I get Greens value but there's something I don't like about the guy, nothing to back it up, just a gut feeling. Maybe cause he rides a Vespa.

Because any increase in the Rangers performance helps the Rangers 100% and any increase in the Caps performance hurts the Rangers, what, 5%?

And I don't think replacing Green and Holtby with Miller is an improvement anyways.

I strongly disagree. Miller puts Washington back in the mix. Washington with Miller is better than the Rangers. Holtby has some of the worst rebound control I have ever seen and he is barely holding of Grubacher anyway.

I don't think Green makes the Rangers better either and is a huge, massive, cap and asset killing risk. I don't think Green gets better with a change of scenery. I think he is very clearly breaking down.

I feel the same. I hate Green, for no real reason.

He looks like a ****ing dbag

As long as he can actyually make plays at the blueline though IDGAF

Another major concussion and Green might be done--and I'd bet it will come. Some players are prone to them. No way I would include Hagelin in a deal for him and Stralman wouldn't be in the conversation either if he wasn't on the verge of being a UFA.

I love watching Green play, but he's a huge risk. Injuries, declining production, a reputation based off of playing on a power play with a generational talent - it's all there, folks! But it could work out very well, too, because he is a legit talent who fills a niche here.

It's the kind of thing where I'd be very happy if we got him for futures - we're really going for it - but almost all of our important roster players are more steady than he is. I don't really know what they'd want or what other teams would give.

It's actually a shame how far Green has fallen. He used to be one of my favorite players.

His dip in production and medical history make me hesitate on wanting to take a shot. Less concerned about his defensive play. His defensive lapses would definitely be as limited on the Rangers as they would be anywhere else in the league.

Can someone explain to me how the NHL's salary cap is $71 million and the NBA's is $59 million?

I would assume the cap would be based off the revenues of the league though.

NBA has revenue sharing, and the revenue of the NBA is only 5 billion, compared to 3.3 billion in the NHL. NBA's revenue split is 50-50.
