Collberg is a solid prospect. Snow should have gotten more for Vanek, though I'm sure time was a factor on this one, and it wasn't doing Snow any favors.

So here is the question: When Snow gets fired for totally mismanaging this season for the Isles, does Nabakov automatically become GM or do they get the opportunity to hire Dipietro instead?

man if that is all it took to get Vanek I 'm not sure why Glen didn't go after him...

Could have done a 3rd and Lindberg or somethng...

where is the size and grit needed for the playoffs.. oh wait Sather did do anything to address that need..

i do like the St.Louis deal but where is the deal for grit for the playoffs..:help:

It's not coming and won't be coming with Sather and AV at the helm. Funny how some still want more one dimensional skill.

I think he is very much a border-line prospect.

I would -- never -- deal Fast for Collberg. Collberg got a Hall of Fame WJC career, but he really is not that good of a player. He is clutch and a winner.

Wonder how far we can get w/o it. If we get far, it really dispells the notion that it is a necessity. If we fall, i expect a big move or two to add size in the offseason.

Seen Collberg play live 60+ times in the SEL, he's struggling a lot playing agains seniors. Not even close to as impactfull he's been in the WJCs. He has scored 18 points in 121 SHL games... There's even been talk about trading him from his SHL team Frölunda, that shoud say a lot about how much Garth Snow screwed this one up..

Look at the Rangers cap situation. The Rangers have added $14.025M in commitments for next season with the acquisitions of Klein and MSL plus re-signing Girardi. $53,187,500 for 12 players. 6 forward. 4 D. 2 G. The cap won't be set at $70M-71M. Nick Kypreos and Doug MacLean were discussing that yesterday on Hockeycentral at noon. NHL teams believe the cap will be set at $68M-$69M because of the Canadian dollar. $1M-$1.5M-$2M less. The Rangers will need every penny looking at their cap situation.

Arbitration for Brassard,Zuccarello and Kreider. Moore is a group II. Stralman and Boyle are group IIIs.

Richie seems like a goner. 6.67 more to that.

Callahan had basically little value today based on Moulson/Vanek returns.

Which makes the situation even more confusing. Wait it out until the last possible minute and then pull the plug over $200k per year and trade-clause issues? Has to make you wonder if this was all a ploy to get Yzerman to think the Rangers would back out of a MSL deal by signing Callahan.
