HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread: From Here to Free Agency

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
We better improve that second line, because with Newhook and Kapanen on that second line, we are in deep trouble.
I’d be extremely surprised if Hugo did nothing this summer if the Knies rumours are to be believed.

They are out there trying to do stuff.

Now, if the draft comes and goes and free agency as well and they haven’t done squat…

different discussion then

Robertson would be ridiculous. He becomes arguably our best forward.

But I don’t see Hugo playing 15 mil.
Not sure Robertson really wants 15m, it's just as likely he just wants out for whatever reasons. Dobson was reported to be demanding 11m from the NYI, but he signed 9.5 with us. Rantanen allegedly turned down 11.75m with Colorado but took 12m with Dallas.

But even if it really is something like 15m, I don't see that as a big problem. The whole point of Hughes asking guys like Hutson to take a discount is so that there's cap to make a huge splash like adding a Robertson.

I also find it curious that the Hischier deal is not closed…

I think think he is available. NJ moving Nemec and getting all that draft capital back in return is a signal that they may be eyeing a backup plan.

Hes clearly not what the Habs need.
Depends. He is not going to address the holes that were exposed in the playoffs. But he is like another Suzuki, on the wing. Already the Habs biggest strength is that other teams are constantly trying to adjust to them. You can maybe overcome those weaknesses if you really lean in to the puck possession high octane style of this team. I can't imagine it's easy to prepare for a team with 2 dominant lineups.

Where the hell were you all day? It was a boring day. The board disappointed me.
Fridge broke down for the nth time. Scrambled to get it emptied and did a massive throw out job.

The fridge is such a lemon that the manufacturer agreed to compensate me provided I destroy it by making holes through it and send pics to them evidencing same.

I thought the holes thing was excessive but if that’s their fetish, let them enjoy their fridge porn.

Happens to me with off road jeep doors. They wanted pictures of me disposing them at the scrapyard.

Wouldn’t be awesome if every single company had the same return policies as Costco😅

He was talking about Demidov. It was always about Demidov. They see Demidov be the play driver. Like Kucherov is the play driver as a winger. Media didn’t catch that one.

As soon as Gorton said it, I knew he meant Demidov. And many others here too. But media is still asleep on this one.

They don’t need a star centre; sure, if they can grab one without a heavy cost. They need a CAPABLE one. And a capable and responsible winger on the other side. I think fans have yet to see our 93 blossom 🌸. He will become the best forward of this team in 2 seasons from now.

Kapanen ain’t it. What Demidov did with Kappy is a glimpse of what he could do with a capable centre and winger. Kapanen scored 20 goals just like Young scored 50 with Lemieux; 93 is that good.

In a very short time, players will ASK to play with this kid.

Get him some capable line mates and it’ll be fine.
Are you buying these conjectures we’ve been hearing lately about how they might be looking to groom Demidov as a center?
