HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread: From Here to Free Agency

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I think the Leafs can keep Knies...............and we can keep our guys.....
Lots going on, we don't really need Knies do we?? Not for what they want.......
Me too especially after reading some of the ridiculous packages I've seen proposed by Leaf fans for Knies on HF lately.

Adding a Knies to the top 6 would be great addition of course but IMO the priority should be adding a 2nd line center and top 4 RHD and I'd rather Hughes use his expendable assets to address these glaring weaknesses instead first.

This guy gets it. I dont doubt Kent is working the phones trying to do something that makes sense but im not one bit sad we missed out on a guy like kyrou like we couldnt have topped that offer. Just didn't make sense for us to do so.
we did not miss on kyrou in my opinion, we could have had him from last year. just think they did not try hard enough.

Yes, and we could trade Carrier mid-season if Reinbacher is ready.

I wouldn't mind Carlo as a buy low option, provided he can still play. I don't know if he can, though.
Either Carlo or Ristolainen would IMO come at a reasonable price and fill a massive gap for this team.

Every time I watched Calgary the last two years, I thought Connor Zary was criminally underrated and wondered why his coach kept playing him on the fourth line (often as a winger) when clearly, he had better offensive skill than 80 % of their lineup and looked good as a left handed center.

And today, we learn Calgary is trying to trade him for a second (meaning his value is possibly even lower)... Wow. This is one great buy low option.

We can find pearls in teams like Calgary that doen't use their roster properlly. You seems to watch the late games if you saw that. Finding players like that is scout's job, I hope Hughes have a good staff for this.

Kent and many fans should stay focus. Habs most pressing needs:

1- 2nd line center
2- Top 4 RHD with some size to play with Hutson

All those teams are going nuts over 60-70pts wingers and blowing all their assets to get them.
Kent don't need to, we already have 3 of those wingers with Demidov, Caufield and Slafkovsky.

If there's no good long term solution, go for short term cheaper plugs and keep our top prospect.
As long as we stay focus on what we need.

Werenski currently has a NMC, next July 1st that changes to a modified NTC (he has to give a 10 team trade list). If he’s not willing to sign a contract with them I wonder if they trade him then.

I love everything about Columbus.....BUT.....I gotta go

Columbus hasn’t won much though in his 10 season there. They’ve won a total of 2 playoff rounds and haven’t made the playoffs in the past 6 seasons. Players want to go somewhere they can win. It’s the same with Larkin.

Who does he replace in the line-up though?

He had a big injury (knee, i think) and hasn't been the same since.
But he's left handed and can play center, so there's that.
At 3.775M for 2 years, that's a bit high if he doesn't rebound.

Maybe as a plan B?
