Interesting....
CJ said the Hellyebuck to Florida thing is still a possibility.
Of course it is and they won’t give up anything for him that will hurt.

I’ve seen a few analysts suggest someone like Jason Robertson. I could definitely see Ottawa making a move for a player like that.Losing their third best player hurts but at the same time I seriously doubt they don't move those first round picks for a top 6 forward and potentially a really good one
On the Chris Johnston show he said that his understanding that Robertson has no interest in signing an extension with Ottawa.I’ve seen a few analysts suggest someone like Jason Robertson. I could definitely see Ottawa making a move for a player like that.
Money talks. If Robertson hits RFA and finds out he’s not worth as much as he thinks, Ottawa has the money to make something happen. Most Canadian teams have to overpay to get players to come or stay. Not saying it will happen but it’s definitely a possibility. On the Chris Johnston show he said that his understanding that Robertson has no interest in signing an extension with Ottawa.
The issue is Dallas would probably want the 9th pick from this year's draft as part of the deal and that becomes before Robertson becomes a RFA. The rumour was that Dobson was offered more money from Columbus but he wouldn't sign an extension with them past one year and wanted to play in Montreal so money isn't always the main reason a player chooses a team. I think Robertson as an American has played his entire career in the US will want to stay in the USMoney talks. Did well?Sens did well. Brady is a fraud and #9 this year will be as good as him in 2 years.
If they can flip the picks for a roster player that can replace Brady’s production, then it will be considered a good deal. Brady wanted out and so did the team.Did well?
They don't even get an actual roster player back in return lmao..
Dobson had a destination he wanted to go to and he was willing to handcuff his team to get what he wanted. Robertson could potentially do that, but from all the rumours I’ve read it’s really only a money dispute with Dallas right now and not really about preferring to leave. I think the likelyhood that he would listen to anyone making high offers on a contract if Dallas isn’t going to give him what he wants are pretty high whereas Dobson wanted to come to Montreal so bad that he was willing to take less money and twist New York’s arm to make it happen. I don’t see that happening with Robertson. I could see him taking less to stay in Dallas if it’s not about money. The issue is Dallas would probably want the 9th pick from this year's draft as part of the deal and that becomes before Robertson becomes a RFA. Money maybe an issue but if someone like Detroit or Columbus make an extension similar to Ottawa, I would see Robertson choosing them over OttawaDobson had a destination he wanted to go to and he was willing to handcuff his team to get what he wanted. The sweetener to take EP40 is Hronek...can't believe I'm actually posting this, but:
...do we actually consider an EP40 trade now??...like 2026 1st (28th overall) + Gallagher + Engstrom/Roy/whatever B one we want to get rid of??...
...
...I know; I just puked in my mouth a bit thinking about it...![]()
I think the Robertson thing also has to do with him disagreeing with DAL's offer during the previous contract situation and explicitly retaining this leverage for this scenario. Remember how he structured his deal, it walked him to UFA-1 with a QO of 8.5m or so. He can stay but he will leave for free... or DAL can sell him to somewhere he will get a fresh start and feel trusted by the org. I don't think it has to do so much with maximizing the final AAV imo. Robertson wants a long-term deal.Dobson had a destination he wanted to go to and he was willing to handcuff his team to get what he wanted. It’s an interesting situation. I really think the chance of him being offer sheeted is high if Dallas tries to go the QO route. It would be worth it for a team to try because there’s a chance Dallas doesn’t match and if they do match, Robertson basically gets what he wants while getting to stay. If I was Dallas and whatever lowball offer their giving him isn’t working, I’d be looking into a sign and trade now before a team has the chance to do that. They’re looking to win now and a bunch of random 1st round picks isn’t what they need.I think the Robertson thing also has to do with him disagreeing with DAL's offer during the previous contract situation and explicitly retaining this leverage for this scenario. I think he will sign (with another team) for less than the rumoured 12-14m. Just a hunch. The relationship doesn't seem good. It’s an interesting situation. Exactly. Last summer I proposed Caufield for Robertson when the rumours flared up that DAL and JRob were far apart. They’re looking to win now and a bunch of random 1st round picks isn’t what they need.
Very good read of the situation. FLA made out like bandits here.Masterclass by Zito, it’s akin to the guy that traded a paper clip for a house
Flipped Samoskevich for a 1st and 2nd then added 2 firsts to that for Brady. Would be like us trading Kapanen and 2 firsts for Knies.
Everybody says every big fish trade starts with Hage or Zharovsky, Panthers gave up nothing from their core and some magic beans - the 9OA is nice but still a magic bean.
I watch Vancouver a bunch. He's still a good player and he's surrounded by nothing. Responsible defensively as well. And I don't think Engstrom and Beck is going to hurt us much (despite really really liking both players).
He is in no way my #1 target. But I also think he's good value at 8.5.
hard to give up something useful when the player who asked for a trade wants to play in 2 cities.Masterclass by Zito, it’s akin to the guy that traded a paper clip for a house

We just need McDrai to want to take their talents to Ville-Marie Borough - not the same catchy phrase as South Beachhard to give up something useful when the player who asked for a trade wants to play in 2 cities.
This garbage is becoming the NBA.
