HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

Zacha a bit slow?
Caufield , Slaf, Laine and zacha all under 50th percentile for speed (edge data).

can’t have just suzuki (+ Demidov, hopefully) > 50th in the top 6. That’d be a bit slow.

Speed, grit, and defensive ability are glaring needs. We’ve got a bit of it lower down the lineup, but very little in our projected top-6.

Some players who we might sign?
Ryan Lindgren LD could be useful and affordable ant $3.5 mil. Averages 19 mins per game.
Ivan Provorov could be a good addition at $6 mil averages 23 mins per game.
Aaron Ekblad could be that missing horse to play 23mins a game. He might be costly at $7.5 mil
Mason Appleton as replacement for Armia at $3 mil.
Another horse Neal Pionk but will be at $6.5 mil. Averages 23 mins a game
Sam Bennett this guy fits the MTL plan moving forward $7.5 mil 6 years will convince him.
Lastly Vladislav Gavrikov is a horse averages 22-23 mins a game. Maybe at $5.5 mil.

Of the players I listed Lindgren, Appleton, Bennett are good fit with what we have. Lindgren replaces Savard, Appleton replaces Armia and Bennett gives us that missing 2nd line center.

Slafkovsky Suzuki Caufield
Demidov Bennett Laine
Newhook Dach Appleton
Anderson Evans Gallagher
Beck/Roy

Hutson Matheson
Guhle Carrier
Xhekaj Lindgren

Hes turning 38 with injuries over injuries. Giving 3 first pick is just too much. We can get Younger and better at this price
I’m pretty sure Crosby hasn’t missed a game in three years. But I agree I wouldn’t give up that many futures unless it’s for someone that projects to be in our line up long term. Crosby is definitely up there in age now.

Has RNH been on the Oilers 3rd line most of this season?

If so I wonder if he'd be potentially available as a trade target. I could see them being very interested in Fowler for obvious reasons. I'd entertain something around Fowler+ for RNH. I know most fans would blow a gasket over that proposal, but goalies are a crap shoot, even prospects that look as promising as Fowler. It wasn't long ago that Primeau was coming off a similarly impressive College run and getting praised as the future in net.

Not so far fetched at all... Especially if they do re-sign Bouchard. Their cap situation is going to be complicated and as good value as RNH is, not sure having 2 x 14M+ forwards & 2x 9.5M+ Dmen is conducive to carrying multiple 5M$ + middle 6 forwards... Especially for a team with little to no ELC talent likely to provide meaningful impact the next 2-3 seasons (or more).

But not sure they'd want Fowler given their needs and timelines. As good a prospect as he is, G prospects can take a few years at pro level before being quality NHL starters... Wolf & Knight are recent examples, or top prospects like Askarov, Wallstedt & Cossa that are still in the AHL.

Dobes & one of Beck or Kapanen I could see having more appeal.

Don’t know where to post this

A Montreal boy. Might sign with Laval?

He looks like he could be Rene Bourque’s illegitimate kid.

If Bennett stays in Florida, what would be the price for Lundell? I see that the Panthers don't pick in the first three rounds, and they only picked 4 times in the top 100 the last three drafts (with Linus Eriksson at 58 being the highest).

What about our highest 1st 2025, MTL 1st 2026 (top 10 protected), PIT 2nd 2025 and Owen Beck?

They aren't trading lundell . Bennett like their other players will take a discount and he plays many roles. They Love Lundell and won't trade him. They are a championship team, so not happening

All those players have a 0% chance to sign in Montreal and Gavrikov already makes over 5.5 million.

All that for Lundell....hmmm, not sure I'd do it. I think OB has a chance to be on par with Lundell in a couple of years. Beck seems like he has a real good chance of becoming a strong two-way #3C that excels because of his IQ and skating. Doesn't help us right away of course but I'm torn on it.

No chance we'd give up that much for Lundell lol

If they get booted out of the playoffs early that could serve a stark warning to Bennett and incite him to explore the market.

I can imagine an interesting scenario where Habs make it to the playoffs, boot their asses out of it and then grab Bennett as a UFA afterwards. They would surely hate us... :D

Just for the fun of it
