Makes more sense. I'd happily send Hage+++ for Thomas. Ideal age, contract, production, skill set, etc. Sets the team up with a top-5 tandem down the middle until 2030.

Sadly, no reason for STL to move him. He's young enough to be a part of a retool and his contract is easy to work around.

I'd overpay for Thomas tho. I'd make a call atleast. STL is so lost

What I learned the last few years is that Habs fans are big fans of on converting wingers to center and centers to wing and plan their trade accordingly...

The only sliver of a chance is if STL decides on a rebuild over a retool and Thomas doesn't want to waste his prime at the bottom of the standings. That's unlikely though as they've got a handful of good young forwards and some steady defenceman to work a retool around. There'd be quite the lineup of teams if he wanted out.

I have been back and forth on Evans but i decided if we arent signing the guy and we are being offered a 1st , do the trade regardless of the standings. And keep the rest of the guys we likelt are being offered mid round picks on for the team.

So i think thats it for the TDL unless a hockey trade comes up.

His decline should match nicely with the development of the kids - Beck , Kapanen, Hage.

...his decline has already begun and he'll be 35 next year...personally, I don't see it as a good idea when there are younger, more offensive C's out there...
