That’s a good point tooAs a GM sometimes you need to stick to your gun to show other GMs you wont budge.

I think it's unlikely also. But it was unlikely that the Devil's would get a bottom 5 picks after a great 100+ pts season. I would just not sell the farm to get a 2 years fix. Such a bad timing. I'm fine with a long term solution at C / D, tho.I seriously doubt the Habs will be in position to draft McKenna next summer.
Why would Anaheim trade him for that?Would love to take a slight chance on Zegras. I wonder if we can get him for Pittsburg's 2nd and a guy like Farrell. A great replacement for Evans with the potential to make the next step 5 on 5.
Would take a lot of injuries, starting with Suzuki and Hutson.I seriously doubt the Habs will be in position to draft McKenna next summer.
Crosby and Malkin are nearing the end so McKenna will most likely end up with the Pens just because that's how things seem to work for that franchise. Out with the old superstar and in with the new and next superstar.I seriously doubt the Habs will be in position to draft McKenna next summer.
People who say we should not sell should take a look at the Caps. They sold last year, made the playoffs anyway with younger players and drafted Protas bro and Hutson bro last summer. If no dmen in the AHL can play as bad as Savard is this season then it means our rebuild failed cause honestly playing as bad as Savard is is not hard to do. Only tricky player is Evans the others (Savard, Armia, Dvorak) should be easily replaceable if the rebuild is healthy.
I said the same thing about Savard but was chastised for it because he supposedly “ brings invaluable experience and guys like Arber go to him for advice”The price for Evans should be a 1st. Package him wit Armia and retain on Armia is needs be, As a GM sometimes you need to stick to your gun to show other GMs you wont budge. I would hate losing him for nothing but a low 2nd is not worth it for him.
For Savard i'd move him for a 2nd or 3rd (if offered) if Guhle is not done for the year. I personally think he makes our defense worse. Again yesterday on a goal he cheated toward the board and left the other dman completely alone. He's slow and he's not effective anymore. Not sure what people see in him this year he honestly suck. Carrier did not improve our defense as much as less Savard did.
It follows the trend as well.Crosby and Malkin are nearing the end so McKenna will most likely end up with the Pens just because that's how things seem to work for that franchise. Out with the old superstar and in with the new and next superstar.
McKenna and the year after, Dupont. It would be totally unfairIt follows the trend as well.
1984 - they draft Lemieux
21 years later (2005) - they draft Crosby
21 years later (2026) - they draft McKenna?
See it's already been written in stone. It follows the trend as well.

McCann would be an interesting 2C option if available, 2yrs left at $5M - 28 yrs old
Can play C or W.
Except one is 38yold, would cost blueship prospect and doesnt fit the rebuild.Getting Crosby would be like getting a second Suzuki. They pretty much have identical stats this season.
Rumour says yes, but I wouldn’t be on him. Asset should be put on acquiring a top 6 C or top RDIs Peterka on the market? I heard he might be.

Detroit/CBJ/NYR/NYI are all top 5 in remaining schedule strength. That would be horrible asset management. I think management knows we won't be a top 4 team in the league for the next 20 games while all the other 6 teams play poorly.
Go further where ?I hope Hughes won’t trade Evans, Armia, DVorak or Savard. The team really needs these vets to go further. They have enough freagin picks that they won’t be able to sign them all anyway.
