HuGo are always so quiet...............seems nothing coming out of the media, other than the obvious which is Evans and Armia........Dvo and Saavvy are an out side chance..............I think they may surprise us all by doing something out of the blue, just a hunch.
Which is why I think it’s a smokescreen… they’re waiting out to see where this team is after Monday nights game vs Buf…

Wouldn’t shock me if HuGo make a significant acquisition - an asset which addresses both short & midterm

Add a 1st and or Mailloux and they have to at least think about it but ya I don't disagree at all. Problem is Minnesota is desperate right now so they be willing to move a prospect. They have one of if not he best prospect pool in the league they have Ericksson EK and Marco Rossi through the middle already so moving Yurov for a 1st (which they dont have), Mailloux and some immediate help in Armia and Evans I dont think thats a bad offer.
Yurov is untouchable for many Russians including Kaprizov. Wild have been stacking up on Russians , so it's not happening. They have a russian named Marat who hasn't been good since day 1 but because of Kaprizov, he has never seen the AHL. Yurov has been promised a top six spot already. Wild don't need D. They traded a 1st for David J and has Buium coming. They won't trade Him Very Simple. Rossi will be moved in the summer or at deadline if Wild Can get a top C whose better.

I think the Canucks would rather see him gone. It's obvious he doesn't want to be there and it wouldn't take Suzuki .Canucks are stuck with him and that contract which is the only reason he is still there.I bet Dach and possible draft pick and the Canucks have to eat a good chunk of that contract would do it.It's a huge risk for any team to get him for nothing with that contract
Maybe so. Did they trade the wrong guy even with the age difference ? I mean the Canucks had what looked like a pretty good team and now its going to hell.

...the Sabres apparently aren't looking for picks or prospects in any trade; they want to trade young talent for a Star player, iirc...
Too bad no Stars will ever want to go there willfully.

The owner should just sell the club already.

I’m fine with Newhook lately, no rush to move him he should be okay as a 3rd line LW
I agree, at least he looks like he wants to get better results.

We are hoping for a trade that can bolster the team as we dump a player or two.

I think they traded Miller because he could get some value back for them and they had no choice but to break those 2 apart.EP has zero value at this point with that 8 year 11.5 mil contract and the way he is playing.

2012 was one of the weakest draft ever and Parayko was drafted in the 3rd round along with Stephenson, Esa Lindell, Adam Pelech and Grzelcyk. Also keeping a vet who will decline and block kids for no reason is pretty useless too atm since we are a good 3 years away from something. Our group of vets is vastly overrated by fans. As soon as the kids slow down the team starts losing.
I understand stand your point of getting some is always better than nothing and regardless of what happen in 2012 the odd of converting on a 3rd round picks isn’t great, not getting any return on anyone of these guy isn’t setting us back they are UFA so they aren’t blocking anyone. It isn’t KH who is on the clock to move those guys it is the playoff teams that have the all the pressure to improve.
Also for most of the buyer pick will be late in the round which also make it less valuable.

We have ton of bodies and picks, we need to be looking at quality, Squeezing top value out of one trade is better than getting just getting 4 trades done for middling return… If we had a guy with significant value like Nelson, you absolutely can’t lose them for nothing but in our situation we have zero pressure let the desperate team get desperate.

What are the odds of hitting on a NHL player in the late 1st, 2nd&3rd? Now what is the value of getting a player that you can plug and play to help you team going into the playoffs. Guy like Evan, Armia and Savard are worth a lot more than a their 3rd to them…
1) the odd of that pick making the NHL
2) odd of that pick being better than player being acquired
3) that pick isn’t helping you in the next 3 years…

I don't see really any vested interest in nibbling around the edges on the wing for someone like Peterka.

If they go after a winger, it has to be your Rantanen tier guy.

Left shot center and right shot defenseman is the dire need.
Peterka is a beauty but we really don't need more wingers with Demidov coming through next year. Of course, I'd rather have Rantanen than Laine, but giving Rantanen 14x7 when he's looking more and more like a Mack/Makar product is certainly risky. Not to mention that we'd have to retain 50% on Laine and dump him because he's not suitable in the bottom 6.

Like you said, a #2 LHC and top 4 RHD are must-adds, and I think it's a failure if Hughes doesn't address them in the offseason. We've got loads of assets and cap space.

Teams trying to get rentals to make a run for the playoffs don't trade roster players for those rentals. Outside of the Timo Meier's of the world, of which, we aren't selling any.
so KH gets a bunch more picks? could be... can't use all of them and yes I know they can package picks for players.
only so many contracts they can do

right but contenders could have NHL-ready prospects who are victims of a numbers game. If they move into our depth chart, many would be able to play in the NHL this season.

Picks are just a currency. I wouldn't tell payroll to stop giving me dollars because what I really want is a new couch.

I think the habs will be targeting younger guys who are more proven than the dach/newhooks of past trades at this point. I don't think 'nhl ready' is gonna be enough.

Only if you’re on team tank.

Still managed two 50-almost-60 points season on the awful Sabres.

Is the lack of compete a concern or something?

I'd ban Avs' phone number from HuGo phone books. No trades with them ever.

Yeah, I thought about that too and you're probably right lmfao. But for once they didn't win that (Mittelstadt) trade.
