He can take his bigoted ass back to Moscow as far as I'm concerned. He's nowhere near good enough to be worth the money or the trouble. We can do much better.

I don't want to get off on a tangent here , but I just want all clebs, athletes and newsmakers to shut up about everything in life but the sport they play, or the movie they are promoting. I could care less about their opinions one way or another. Shut up and play, don't care about your sex life, what you believe or how you vote. I wish the NHL and sports would stay out of all the social aspects and just play the game, I don't need a cause every month.

I agree but rich people thinks they are smarter.....and dumb people also think those rich people are smarter because they're rich and wants to hear what they think about everything. It's a vicious circle.

I love hockey just as anyone else here but hey, these guys are pushing pucks with a stick on skate for a living.....not rocket scientists, not curing disease or anything. Same things for actors, their jobs is to wear make up and repeat lines.....not exactly a profession you need intelligence to do.

I would take Ekblad short term high AAV, I doubt Florida is willing to commit to him long term they are pretty ruthless with their aging players

I didn't realize Gavrikov and Chychrun were both UFAs. It will be interesting to see what these guys get under the new cap era, could see 6M+ for Gavrikov and 7M+ for Chychrun, long term

Personally social media influencers bother a lot more than athletes and celebs. Lot of them are politically active too since political divide generates lot of clicks and those influencers are paid by clicks.

This is why I'm wondering if we can trade Calgary their pick back this year, plus Savard for Zayne Parekh? I'd really like to have that kid in Montreal, not sure what it would take though

Parekh will off limits.

We could do a trade involving Dobson/Matheson. We’d add a 1st/2nd rd pick probably.

Parekh is not what we need though, we already have that type of player with Hutson

Ekblad or similar profile RHD is exactly what Habs needs. Experienced vet, cup winner and can still anchor a top pairing and log big minutes while the next Gen can play more sheltered minutes and not get thrown into the fire.

Habs don’t need a Savard or Kovy replacement. They need better players, not more of the same but slightly younger.

Same goes for upfront where they need some vets who can play in the top 6 and take some pressure off the kids and help them to be more consistent and be positive role models.

Adding an early 30’s player or two who still produces would be a great addition to one of the youngest teams in the NHL. You’d have to jettison some of the less effective vets on the team to make space for them and the youngsters coming up. DVO, Savard, Armia, Gally, Anderson etc. are some of the guys who need to be replaced and upgraded.

Wouldn't be so bad tossing some extras to Nashville for Stammer?

Not a bad stop gap as 2C, and then 3C when a younger prospect earns the role. Similar to Tavares in Toronto.. only Stammer has cups.

His current contract is $8Mx4.

Expensive and he's on a downward path. Also has a full NMC.

Yes, you need experience in your defensive group if you want to make the playoffs

UFA at season’s end and would need to get extended, RD, 24 years old, reliable defensively, plays on the PK, hits and blocks shots.
