Not sure if it was a rumour or if he was making a proposal.

Yes Cowan, Minten and possibly Niemela are the only 3 of interest. Hirvonen is too small. If Minten is anything like Beck I'd do a 1 for 1 with Evans or throw in a 4th to get him.

Plus you have to charge a premium to trade him to a divisional and historical rival so you’d expect TO would have to give a more aggressive offer to even be considered.

A 1st I think is best case scenario for a team who’d trade and sign him. As a rental, a 2nd+ is about right but never know of a GM willing to up the deal to get him and screw a rival.

We'll hear more rumors as we get closer to the TDL. I feel like it would be better if he were on pace for at least 40 points. But he's recently dipped below that pace. Maybe as part of a package like Granlund and Ceci, and in the case of Evans where we take back a bad contract.

If he gets his price. But this year, there aren't any offesive players like Toffoli and Monahan. Other dominos may have to fall at center and RD, and teams may have to start to feel the heat of an arms race and their competitor loading up...

I think like you . Few weeks before the deadline many are not worth a first , but come desperation time , even chariot goes for a first

Friedman on his 32 podcast said Knights working on big name player. He mentioned Schenn. They usually get the guy they want.

Montreal on other hand are trying to package Evans with Armia and possibly a draft pick or prospect for big name. That can help them now and in the future.

I doubt that a contender gives up a player that can help them now in such a trade.
So that leaves a big name prospect as a possibility.

I'm guessing they'd try to add Mailloux to that and be willing to take back cap dumps.
But maybe if they add Heineman instead and send the whole line, that would get it done.

First off, if we got this trade it would be a HUGE win.. i fon't think NJD are this dumb.. however, there's no denying their wondow is now, and Evans/Armia are a legit add to a contender. Nemec offers nothibg to NJD for this year and probably next (they dont have time to drag their feet)..

So, what must the package be to get NJ to acceot the trade? Mailloux (to replace the positional depth) plus another prospect longshot = like Mesar.

So, Evans+ Army + Mailloux + Mesar for Nemec + a cap dump.

There's no way Bennett is getting $9m.
