Dobson has no where near the pedigree of Sergachev.

If we finish with pick 8+, I wouldn't hesitate to trade that pick to NYI for Dobson.
That's interesting that you say that as I think Dobson is clearly the better player. Sergachev's physicality is vastly superior while Dobson is soft as baby shit, but Dobson was one of the league's best dman last year. He was great for the two seasons before that too. Meanwhile, Sergachev was always a secondary dman on a lethal Tampa team.

Call me crazy but I rather gamble on Trevor Zegras than holding on to Dach.

Though, we would also need to move on from LAINE. Otherwise, our D squad will have a hard time lol.

Slaf - Suzuki - Demidov
Caufield - Zegras - Heineman
Newhook - C - Anderson
Gallagher - Kapanen - Davidson
Not crazy, I would do a Zegras for Dach swap. Anaheim would do it because Zegras has the bigger deal, Montreal would do it because Kirby ain't breaking anything trying to found a country club in our weather.

Zegras stinks.

Not sure why posters think it's so easy to trade Laine. We got paid to take him on for a reason. He's a heavily flawed player that cannot be counted on. I don't see how his value improved since then. However, this year should be a write-off for him anyway. We are already very limited in terms of offensive skill and nobody besides Demidov will be ready for next year. Why are we rushing to pay assets to get rid of Laine when his value is at an all-time low, we have no quality replacements, and are a bottom 10 team in the league?

The whole Crosby thing, spending a week in MTL, "tasting" what it would be to evolve within habs installations, reminds me the same kind of hype created around Vincent Lecavalier for the 2009 All Star weekend.
Well...there was a trade in place for Lecavalier that included Price. It's the TB owner that nixed it.

No to Zegras. They should move on from the “reclamation projects” window. They need to add stability.

Laine can be moved next TDL with retention and no term.

When he went to Nashville it was between there and Montreal, so there is a chance from his end.
I’m not so sure anyone believed there was a 2nd choice. It had been long speculated he’d go there. Country music and a property he had purchased before.

If I had a dime for every “there or Montreal” scenario…. ;)

I'd rather move Dach to the wing if the return is Zegras.

Offer Newhook and a bag of pucks see if they bite.

Zegras went from a 60pts future superstar to this what happened??

He was always overrated. He's like Drouin. You have to force feed him minutes, opportunities, soft zone starts, top line mates.

As the Ducks got better and all that coddling went away, his production went down.

He's not worth the investment to scrape that many points out of especially since the rest of his game is so terrible.

Dach has the injury excuse, so I suppose you'd have to give Zegras the same benefit of doubt right? In any case both have one year to go... Do we care that much? Moving Dach to the wing ain't going to make him a better professional imho.

Who else can we swap Dach for?
