I'd literally give them an entire draft = a pick in every round this year (Calgary’s 1st for the first rounder) for Sid. And we'd still have 5 draft picks + whatever comes back for our UFAs. Lol

Too bad it'll never happen and Sid will never play another playoff game!

Gonna have to be a lot more than that.

2025 1st Calgary
2025 2nd
2026 1st Unprotected
2026 2nd

A trade for Dobson would likely involve giving up a prospect like Reinbacher, to start with. that makes entire sense because the depth chart
Dach, higher ceiling than Suzuki Dach? Can’t be same player.
Dach automatically looks better on the wing. he can also take on the C's defensive responsibilities as the first one back on aa turnover, without getting caught down low in the O-zone and being better for it.

Still think he is a good choice on a line with Caufield and Suzuki.

nobody is giving that for Crosby , like nobody
Man the PlayStation influence .
Thank god we have an agent at the helm

So do we get better or worst return for our UFA at the deadline?

Evan = 2nd+5th
Armia = 3rd + 5th
Savard = 2nd
Dvorak +4th = 2nd
Evans will bring a first .
Armia I can see a second, same kulak did .
Savard I would have said first last year . Now I would see it closer to 3rd but scarcity of shutdown RD might get it to a second .
Dvorak he ain’t worth a 2nd but with a 4th going other way maybe . But all you need is a key injury to a c close to deadline and price goes out

If the world turn on itself and Crosby gets traded, he basically dictates the destination and the return.

The trading team will not give any asset Crosby wants to play with.

Crosby would basically be the one negotiating the return.

If Dach is getting moved out for a defenseman you better have an answer to how we're going to get both a second line center and a second line winger to play with Demidov or Slaf because Laine , Newhook, and Roy are not it.

Move Dach to the wing and acquire a 2nd line center. That's the easiest thing to do to set up the 2nd line for next season when Demidov comes over.

If Dobson is costing a 2nd line roster player, a good defensive prospect, and a 1st round pick, i'm saying no thanks on that one.

Also, Crosby isn't coming here and we're not giving up what the penguins would want in exchange for him.

How many of those hits actually hurt people… or recovered the puck? 6-7?

Hitting isn't about hurting people, it's about puck retrieval. Slaf's hits always create a loose puck situation. He's one of our best forecheckers on the team only Heineman is better.

He's also able to make plays off the boards once he gains control.

The biggest issue is Caufield & Suzuki aren't backing him up. If Slafkovsky causes a loose puck, Suzuki or Caufield need to get in & help in that 50/50 battle. Both have been shit at that this year, especially Suzuk, so they're not getting the possession they should.

Suzuki & Caufield have been primarily rush players this year.

When Slaf plays with Gallagher, Gallagher gets into the battle and can help him sweep up the puck & get actual possession.

It's ridiculous people want Slaf to play like f***ing Pezzetta and just hit anything that moves. His hits do more damage than Pezzetta's ever could.

My comment was in response to the suggestion that Slaf is a hitting, forechecking beast in the “make them hurt” sense.

Despite the high hit count, he’s really not that guy. It’s not his game.

He's been often injured would be more accurate than he gotta do more.

In career he's scoring 34 goals every 82 games. He scored 26 in 46 and 26 in 56. He's a 35ish goals scorer which is what people should have expected from him. He's a small guy and i have enough fingers to list you the less than 5'10 50 goals scorer since i was born.
Last year was an anomaly because he tore his shoulder. He's a 40-50 goal scorer. He needs his spot back on PP 1. Him and Laine should be separated.

...convincing the Devils to do that is gonna be one hard sell...
Depends how badly they want to win this year and how much they rate their this year and next year’s team.

It’s good value for the Habs but Nemec is not Dobson or another top15 RHD… he’s magic beans. Is that what we want? I’m not convinced we need more inexperience. I’d rather a proven workhorse top dman.

It’s likelier than not that Dach is neither a 2C or a 2W.
