True...........I just hate seeing him out there, period.
Terrible is being polite about his play this year.

But I personally don't think the Habs will find anyone to replace Savard (defensive minded RHD) and Dvorak (leftie center who can win faceoff and PK*) at the deadline. And the Habs might already be counting on Konyushkov to replace Savard next season so they might only be looking for the leftie center.

*Newhook is shit at faceoffs and piss poor defensively.

I strongly doubt we gonna see this player in a Habs jersey anytime soon.

At this point, Dach is fine at 2C and Matheson at 2RD for now. We don't need to be in a rush to upgrade those areas. Maybe we can swing a rental to replace Newhook on the second line LW for a playoff push. We can still trade Dvorak (replaced by Beck) and Savard for picks.

None of these names are realistic targets to begin? I think lower, a lot lower is what we should expect if any buys happen. Like: Pospisil (C/LW), Sturm (C), Kostin (C)
 
Here are some rentals without NMC/NTC that can help us upgrade on Newhook:

Rental? why , we are not buying . We should be selling or trade for a long term player established.
No need for side moves to rush things tup.

Dach has to get a lot better at faceoffs to be good top 6 center. You need puck possession in O-zone. Translates into many more goals

Nope for most. I mean if we can steal a guy okay.

Where we are is a 2C and maybe a top pair RHD ( and maybe a goalie ) to start competing seriously ( with
Demidov here ).

Maybe Dach is the 2C, I hope he is.

We don't need lateral moves like Mavrik Bourque or Nemec ( Reinbacher ). If we need a 2C go get a 2C not a 2C hopefully in 3-4 years as that's outside our timeline. And be prepared to pay to get what we need.

Matt Beniers is... a bit of a disappointment maybe ?

Probably not this offseason, but still this point next year if hes going to be pacing for 40ish points you can bet his name will be in rumours.

Nemec might be available since The Devils have two vets RHD signed long term (2028/2030) and also Seamus Casey coming at RHD (who is also a 2022 draft selection).

Sure, is the GM going to put New Jersey's price on the table or is he going to chicken out?

Nemec does not look realistic to me, just like Pettersson.
