And his minutes replaced by who exactly? The team is playing fairly well, just keep him. I’d rather have one of Matheson or Hutson on the ice for 80% of the game. Just makes the team that much more dangerous.

Id like to see them play Monty 70 games.. really be interested if he could withstand that heavy a schedule.. if he can maintain his play over such a stretch, then he will cement his spot on Team Canada..

Those days are long gone - no goalie will get that kind of workload again. In fact Friedman was talking about how G are now being asked to take practices off - and that’ll be the new norm

Funny enough, the Flames are loaded with RHD and their top LHD is Bahl. Matheson+ for Andersson would be the perfect trade for us, but I doubt it makes sense for the Flames.

I see it the other way around, considering the bargaining power of shopping a #1RD with a low contract for the next two seasons.

Context matter. Matheson was pretty much our only PMD last year. You already see that he won't repeat it this season. His previous career high was 34 points.

Andersson is 2.5 years younger and has seasons of 50, 49 and 39 points. At his age, Matheson was not even a 30 points D.

You won't find many people valuing Matheson over Andersson. You can do a poll on the poll board if you don't believe me.

Pesce or Nemec would be great. Given Pesce just signed his big contract to return home, he's a no go. Nemec is a pipe-dream, you don't trade a blue chip RD that young.
