Savard left practice and it fueled that maybe trade? love the media

Hughes will wait it out for the best offer and that likely is on trade deadline day. Doubt some team gets aggressive well before. Possible but not likely

What a brilliant trade by Hughes (Carrier/Barron). Took a RD off the trade market, improved his team, and made Savard a bit more valuable in the RD supply/demand area.

What is the available RD list this year? Seems like teams are still after RD's and several of them too.

It's the best we probably can do without touching other parts we have that we rather keep.

What we don't know is how much other GM's are worried about that $11.6M cap hit with a looming NMC (July 1st). Plus the signing bonus money that many owners hate. This stinks like a PK Subban round 2 situation. Canucks have to decide before July 1st and everyone knows it. You don't think GM's will try to circle around like vultures in this situation?

Very possible Lou offers Barzal and the Canucks bite on that (Barzal from BC). But does that make them win now? Not really. This will be about the now and the future if they trade EP.
I don' t think they really give a f*** for EP.

Let's hope we trade Anderson this time and not keep him for no reasons. Couldn't care less if hes having a good 30 games stretch for the first time he arrived in Montreal
Yes agreed Anderson is doing a good job on the PK but you do not need to pay players 5.5 million to kill penalties....can find way cheaper options in Laval.

The reasons to trade Anderson would be to improve the team. Not because we hate him or think he is overpaid. A frustrating contract yes but it's not blocking anybody and it's not creating cap issues. We shouldn't be desperate to move Anderson at this stage. Right time to trade him is when he is a pending UFA and has time to show more consistency.

Age 30-32 seasons left. Overpaid yes but can still provide value to our team while our youth is developing. I think he has time to increase his trade value so why not?

All GMs in the league. Nobody gives a rats' ass about a looming NMC clause for a player who put up multiple 30 goals seasons and a 100 points earner.

Disagree. NMC are a big deal. Especially for a $11.6M cap hit too. Players have shown history at adjusting to new teams. Look up Huberdeau.

If the Canucks really do want to trade EP, it's happening before July 1st. After that, EP controls his destiny and that affects his trade value. It doesn't make his trade value zero but it has an affect because he might only open up to 1-3 teams and then those 3 teams know it.

They're not for a player like EP, plus the cap hit is going to look tame after McDavid goes to da bank!

You're looking too much into conspiracy theories here.

It's not a conspiracy. It's context. 100% disagree with your narrative that the looming NMC has zero affect.

Please don't spin it back to me now saying that I think the NMC will make his trade value crap. It's a factor among many other factors
