He is very replaceable, there are lots of .5 PPG guys out there, Eller and Desharnais were examples.

In any case you shall see at the TDL. I don't think Evans' contract is anywhere critical for this management.

Edit: It's even possible they acquire a vet C before the TDL eh...
There really aren't, and if you are getting one from UFA or trade it's going to cost more than it would to just keep Evans

All in favor for re-signing Evans. I'd be happy to give 4 years. 5 years might be pushing it but would consider it
2nd longest tenured Hab after Gallagher, I'd give him 5 years at 2.5M or 3-4 years at 3M. He may get more on the open market but I think he wants to stay with his friends

5 years would be his age 29-33 seasons

It's a tough one because we have some solid middle 6 centers on the horizon but you need good veterans like Evans. This is the one opportunity for Jake to set himself up financially and he will be looking for a significant pay raise. I hope he stays but won't be too upset if he moves on.

That AAV might be too low. He likely gets $3.5-4.0 for 4-5 years on the open market.

Unless you going from the moment he got drafted. You better put some respect on Yo-Elle's name.

Unless Jake likes MTL why would he sign here? He will definitely get paid July 1st and will have a choice where to play. So many better places with favourable weather, tax, and team than MTL.

Yes, and I don't think KH signs a center to a long term contract with: Beck, Kapanen, Hage, potentially the 2025 1st round pick, potentially Demidov, Dach & Newhook who will all be able to fill bottom 6 minutes in some way.

Friends plus money is better than strangers plus money. He's been here long enough that he's probably close with many staff and personnel.

Edmonton will pay up though if we don't cause he shuts down Mcdavid pretty easily when they play against each other going back to when they were kids. Oilers don't have any assets so roleplayers need to be overpaid through free agency.

Watch the Habs extend Dvorak (because nobody wants him) and trade Evans at the deadline. :DD
