Yeah, 5 years is a bit much, but it may be what gets him to not go to UFA. I am cool with an extra year for a player like him.

It's a tough one because we have some solid middle 6 centers on the horizon but you need good veterans like Evans. This is the one opportunity for Jake to set himself up financially and he will be looking for a significant pay raise. I hope he stays but won't be too upset if he moves on.

That AAV might be too low. He likely gets $3.5-4.0 for 4-5 years on the open market.
