High chance lol. How many years did it take for Andersson to become a good RHD?
Not only you want to trade a high pick (Calgary first) + but also a recent top 5 pick (Reinbacher).....:help:

How about you give Reinbacher 2 more seasons before you give up on him for a 28 years old player.....
Like I said in my original post, I don’t think management would do this. But I would. It’s why I’m not a GM.

I will have to disagree. After a poor D plus 1 and missing this whole season, there is no way his value is what it was after they used a top 5 pick for him.
The D+1 was not "poor". The team was poor but David worked on things. And the 11 games in Laval to finish the year were borderline excellent.

If he comes with an extension, I have no issues sending the Calgary 1st, Kapanen and Konyushkov for Andersson.. if they really want to push and go for the CGY 1st and Mailloux, I'd do it with the extension.
I'd be warry to trade Konyushkov too fast. He's a solid prospect, getting to maturity in a hard league, he'll be mostly ready when he comes to america and could be a great help for Demidov who would otherwise feel pretty far from home.

Considering Kapanen and Beck target 3rd center and although I liked Kapanen I feel we can't have both and Kapanen does'nt have the size/grit to play 4th line center. My take is Beck will start on the 4th with Evans on 3rd until he push him back on the 4th.

So yeah to Kapanen but not Konyushkov yet. Konyushkov may have a much higher value once he show whay he can do.

i don't think that pro peoples would tag his last season as poor. His team was a complete disaster, and they got 50 coaches during the season.(ok, less than 50, but...). Pro peoples are used to consider these kinds of bad elements surrounding a player, instead of looking stats sheets.

Three targets I would be after as UFAs this summer are;

Pavel Buchnevich age 30
Andrei Kuzmenko age 29
Vlad Namestnikov age 32

I would love to add a Russian forward to the team to help ease Demidov in. Make them a mentor to him.

Maybe even trade for one of them this year so that way they get acclimated to the Montreal culture before signing a new contract. Namestnikov plays in Winnipeg so I can’t see them trading him unless for a roster upgrade. Kuzmenko is on Calgary and I’m not sure if they will be buyers or sellers come deadline time. Buchnevich is on St. Louis and they look like they could be sellers. Not sure what his trade value is but if it is cheap I would think about adding him this year.

Another name I’ll throw out there is Vladimir Tarasenko. He has one more year at 4.75 on contract. Not sure if Detroit would look to move him or not. He has only 12 points in 30 games this year so I am not so sure that they would have him in their future plans.
