Don't think it will be the same at all.
Stay tuned eh.........
The sky does not fall on deadline day.
Trust the process.
Or more along the lines of trust the off season to be that time when Hughes will shine.

If they had big offers for Anderson and refused they're f***ing morons
With the gravy train that’s been rolling in the last 10 days, pretty safe to say that there were no big offers for Anderson otherwise he would have been gone by now.

which playoff teams still have a 1st round pick and cap space to fit Anderson?

I think the Anderson deal will be a bit more complicated if it happens. I could see us taking back a player and getting prospects/picks... and maybe giving up a cheaper contract to make it all fit...

So do I.....but I do want the cap room, it has become a great tool lately to get some assets almost free.
We're already set up to have tons of cap space next summer, but the more the better.
Nobody is going to say no to cap room since Hughes can use it on the next Monahan.

Buffalo? (Not in the playoffs but in the race)

I don’t think they will or should do a move like that but they are the only one i can think of.

God trading Anderson would be so big if the rumoured deals are big.

1. GMs are overpaying like crazy. If we can get an overpayment, I don't see how you turn it down.
2. That's a lot of cap space wiggle room for future years. I know we'd have to take something back, at least for this year, but that doesn't matter.
3. I don't expect to see a Trade Deadline this crazy again anytime soon - so teams won't be panicking to get that one last player in future years quite as bad.

I don't expect there to be a market for Drouin.
Dvorak's value is probably too low right now to get a good return without retention.
Armia obviously has no interest whatsoever.
Edmundson may be dealt, but the return won't be huge.
I'm not sure what the return on Savard would be, but I'd be fine moving him. Honestly our rookies are so solid on the backend that I'm not even worried.
And finally, Hoffman just isn't a player teams want with the extra year. He'll be moveable next year, as long as he has a similar season offensively.
I have a feeling more and more given the amount of trades and treams in the mix that Anderson will be traded tomorrow. Offers are going to get better as teams get more desperate. Hughes has shown nerves of steel when it comes to holding out for what he wants in a trade and Anderson is the best trade chip he has and I think his value is about as high as it can get.

We'll see by tomorrow!

I LOL ... the culture of today is mock outrage about trivial sh1t transformed to real outrage at trivial sh1t. There is some odd belief that if you act outraged all the time that you are a serious thinker who has valid opinions that everyone should adhere to. It is virtue signalling gone wild. I hope that this is a temporary cultural trend, but I don't have much faith.

Why ppl don't understand that players like Drouin are on expiring contracts, and if we got anything for them it would be a bonus.
The poster is mad at our "lateral" return for Dadonov. We acquired Dadonov for an effectively retired player who will never skate again.

They will only make one move tomorrow and it will net at best a 3rd round pick. We will finish with the 9th and 14th picks in the draft to add to our future 3rd liners

1st plus prospect is more than enough to drop that contract
Not if the pick is past 16. Unless the prospect is a can't miss star - but no one would give one of those.

Here is the entire list of all players drafted by us at ranks 17-30/31/32 since 2008:
2009 - Leblanc
2010 - Tinordi
2011 - Beaulieu
2013 - McCarron
2014 - Scherbak
2015 - Juulsen
2017 - Poehling
2021 - Mailloux (too soon to evaluate)

Not one of the 7 prior to Mailloux is even CLOSE to the level of Anderson.

I just don't see any teams that have good solid assets left... AND the cap space.

This is one of the deepest drafts in recent history. #16 this year is a Top #10 most years.

They’ll start by drafting high end/elite talent first before thinking about a 4th line or drafting ‘’BiGgG’’.

Talent is overrated, all we want are BIG players like Anderson, who cares if they’re good!

I mean, who needs caufield when you can have a BIG 15 goal scorer/year!

Funny how after all these years people think 'talent' gets the job done, and in the playoffs teams that have zero size/grit to insulate that toughness exit the first round, like clockwork. But hey, lets kill them with small players and speed, i'm sure that's the winning formula since 1994 right?
