So Carolina just rapidly shifted their roster around....... Saturday will be very interesting game for us.

I actually slightly suspect it will increase our chances of winning on Saturday. On CAR end, too much immediate roster overhaul with new guys coming in with no time for adjustments or even learning.

If there is hope to claw back in, this game may be for the taking actually, assuming their new guys make it on time for Saturday, and our guys are on mini-high from Timo hatty, good vibes game.

I believe guentzel can't come off LTIR until the 10th so he's not even playing tomorrow

What a weird trade. Guy is washed up, just made it through waivers, and was recently in the player assistance program.

Good on them if they can make it work, but it's a strange move, even with the retention.

He wa spretty good in the Capitals cup run. See what you get out of him this year - and then dump him somehow next year if he sucks. only one more year on the contract.

My understanding is that you can't trade future considerations in cap retention deals, but you can still trade it for assets.

IE: You get Brendan Smith at 50% and I get future considerations. If you're receiving a player with retained salary you have to give up at least 1 tangible in return.

Daws has like 17 or something. I could be wrong on that number, but I know it’s significantly more games than Schmid. About twice as many.
