He is definitely more valuable to us than he is in a trade. I just don't see anyone giving up a first for him anytime soon. I would do a 2nd and a B level prospect just to shed the salary though.

I've always thought that AA's contract, while not awful, would lower his value and for that reason the Hawks would keep him. 3 more years at 4.55 is a big commitment for a team. That's much tougher to take on than just a rental.

Most teams would sign him to a 3 year 4.5mil contract if he were a UFA on July 1st this year. But to do that and give up a higher pick? Just won't happen.

Other than moving Wingels for a pick (which likely won't happen until the last minute), maybe the only way we get value back enough to move Anisimov and Hartman is as a package -- most likely to Winnipeg. I'd add in their choice of Murphy or Rutta to get Trouba.

Other than that, I guess just Anisimov to Columbus is still a possibility. What do you guys think of Ryan Murray? He's a young dman who has a few years of NHL experience under his belt. Can't place if he is a right or left. What's his upside?

If Hartman is on block and Canes have shown interest

Wonder if a Hartman for Julien Gauthier + mid pick deal is possible

Gauthier has talent but is a developmental project

Could also ask about Jake Bean

And that is exactly what a rival GM will pitch to Stan. He can't cave.
