I could be wrong because I'm not going to pretend to know everything going on behind the scenes, but it feels like the GM's galaxy brain themselves all the time.

Like Philly knew they sucked months ago. How you don't have a ton of deals lined up is beyond me. Yeah you need 2 to tango, but you have months to get it done.

It's like you're sitting on the biggest exam, job interview, etc, of your life, you have 3 months to prepare, and you don't even bother to start preparing until the night before.

Same as buying teams as well like us. I'm sure we will hear Chevy say they just couldn't get it done, find a fit, etc. And I'm repeatedly on record not overpaying picks and prospects for bad deals, but you have MONTHS to work this out. Don't tell me you ran out of time or some sort of garbage like that.

Pretty happy with this deadline.

Namestinkov is rather mediocre, but mediocre is a great upgrade on our current bottom six. A 4th round pick is a fart in the wind, so whatever.

We didn’t blow our load (i.e. dealt better prospects or our first round pick) to go “all-in” with a team that is cratering. Looks like Chevy learned his lesson from 2019.

YMMV of course, go easy on me. I’m trying to have a positive outlook here

dude you literally came here every other day in the summer to complain about not doing anything then when we were winning you hardly posted. now that we have struggled a bit you have come back...
I posted pretty frequently for the amount of time I had . And was positive as well .

You don’t agree this is a joke ?

Meh. We added a real good forward earlier this week and a solid bottom 6 depth piece today. If Cole is able to be back by playoffs the roster doesn't look too bad.

Conner Dubois Ehlers
Perfetti Scheifele Wheeler
El Nino Lowry Name
Barron Stenlund Appelton

JoMo DeMelo
Dillion Pionk
Snerg Schmidt

Honestly the only thing that is going to take this team far is the group getting back to playing like earlier this year. Adding another piece or two isn't going to do anything without the team getting their game back.

We weren't a contender when we were first in the soft Central either.
again. think you're missing the point. Farber's beef was that it was between Edm and Tor. We've been ahead of Edm in the standings up until this past week. But we weren't an option to TSN.

Yeah, I'll get roasted for this, but I think after these two games against Edmonton I will wake up on Sunday being happy we didn't throw away our future on this current team.

We can all fantasize about Meier and Chychrun coming here in a big blockbuster, but we all know deep down at the end of deadline day Chevy is going to trade a 6th for the corpse of Dmitri Kulikov, a future 4th for Nick Bonino and for his "big all in play" he'll pony up a pair of 3rds for a retained salary Max Domi.

Whiffed on the 6th for Kulikov, but if you replace Bonino with Namestnikov and a pair of thirds for Domi with a 2nd for Niederrieter, I pretty much nailed it
