He was drafted in 2018 and hasn't actually made the Maple Leafs squad, continuing with exactly what I said before, late 1st round draft picks don't make immediate impact on the team that drafted them because its usually cup contenders drafting that high. Nick Robertson isn't a 1st round draft pick, this is what this argument is about, you have this habit of changing your arguments for whatever reason. We are really deep at forward and goalie

We can use a 5/6/7 d-men to compete and rotate with dermott/bogo.

Ideally we add depth guys but probably not feasible.

I'll take any one of Ryan Murray, Jason Demers, Jamie Oleksiak, Nik Hjalmarsson, Nikita Zadarov, Eric Gustafsson as our final addition to the pending cup team

Yeah, When I was in uni, I’d skip the day of classes, grab beers, and enjoy the show. It was more exciting then. The cap created parity, and put a dagger in deadline day. Just not worth using a day off at this point

Yeah and? My point is that these late 1st rounders aren't ready to jump in the NHL just yet, so even if they're traded away right now, by the time they're' ready to contribute, it wont matter because it will be a few years away, they're not going to be helpful right now . I'm not advocating for trading away prospects and 1st rounders every year lol . Just merely pointing out that doing it once or twice, isn't the end of the world.
