Yes but its still odd when there 6th in the west. Clowe is a player that you need in the playoffs IMO.

Ryane Clowe is a NY Ranger.#tradetracker

Is Shannon credible?

Need him for what? Have you watched any Sharks games this year? It is more than a lack of scoring. He has been awful this year.

25 year old puck mover if we moved whitney and a pick id be fine with that. Even with his bad #'s this year he is +8
doubt it would be to us though if he was moved prob going to a contender.

Don't know why we wouldn't deal Whitney and Khabby for picks and then use picks to acquire younger/better fitting pieces. No way we should bring those guys back next year, so why not get an extended look at some other bodies?

Mikka Kiprusoff is open to a trade to Toronto. Still wants adjustment on his contract for next season. #transactions2013

You can't modify a contract once it is signed. So here is what they might do:

Kipper signs a one year extension with a generous signing bonus on July 1. He plays next year for his normal salary. Then on July 1 of 2014 he clooects his signing bonus and promptly retires.

This is basically what Alfredsson did. To me this should be circumvention.

Twitter rumors seem to be high on McBain to the Flyers. You would think we would be able to get a better deal for him than Philly. This is the first trade I hope we are in on.

Because in the playoffs everyone ramps up physicality? No matter they got good assets that they can flip for other players if they choose especially since Clowe was asking for the moon.

We'd be much better off throwing a package of mid-round picks at Kris Russell when guaging the market.

He's also an RFA who'd likely re-up at around $1.5M.

I just can't understand why Carolina's shopping him to be honest.

With the cap going down, a guy of his ilk is a steal at $1.8M. I'd expect that the asking price from Philly starts with Read. And at that price I don't think it's in our best interest. He'd definitely shore up the right side though.

Agreed hopefully Tambo isn't sleeping here. Petry, J Schultz and McBain would a nice RH D core. All can move the puck to our speedy forwards.

And then Toronto is stuck with the cap hit in 2014/15 for a goalie that won't be playing for them (35+ contract). It wouldn't be circumvention.

Someone on their board guessed Eric Wellwood and a 5th for McBain.

Speaking about Carolina, I wonder if they'd be open to trading Ruutu. Probably not, but one can dream.

It wouldn't be circumvention because the team would still be on the hook for his full cap hit for the remainder of his contract (35+).
