This is going to get me a lot of sh1t from many parts I'm already familiar with...but depending on what team docs are saying I'd also explore moving Guentzel this summer. Unless something really changes his body just isn't allowing him to give a F about 2-way play and defense anymore. The level of effort is abysmal.

Come on man your digging a big hole here. The Crosby/Malkin thing.......now Jake. Not every player is a 2way player and Jake isnt even that bad to boot. Have you looked at his stats lately.

Why? They didn't need much. They got a bunch of goalie depth and some forward and d depth.

Nhl network speculating Hexy might be looking at a depth goalie (Berniers specifically) before all's said and done.

I don't hate the idea, you never know with injuries and I'm not huge on Legace being the 3rd going into the POs.

I still don't think Sid, Geno or Jake has been very good this year. The rest of the team has been excellent outside of the PK.

Jake is still producing because he's a genius.

But the two-way effort has fallen off hard. I don't know how the shoulder injury has affected his skating but obviously it has. Even when everyone was injured this year he still didn't get a look at 2C which he has in the past. Kessel produced like crazy in 2018; in hindsight we held on a year too long.

Not at all upsetting to me. He's deserving and not just some nobody.

I dont think you can even compare Jake and Kessel, look at the age difference. Jake not being good is still a top winger on any team in the NHL. Who do you want to replace him?

Sid just jumped up crazy stats in the points race. Geno looked unstoppable until he got hurt. Even these guys worse stretches are better the 90% of anyone out there.

Why are we getting rid of good proven players when we have very few years left to compete?
