Thats what i hear from the posts reading. I might be incorrect but your post translate my reading of the sellers. And that is where i have concern. I beleive Bruins are in a position of going all in or tank for the future. I don't beleive they can do both. Chara is aging. Bergeron, DK are aging and played extremely tough hockey. Marchand is 29.

If you wait for Macavoy and prospect developpement, what age will be your actual core when the kids will be at their top? I don t think we will have a Mcdavid type of player! Bruins need to make a statement: all in for aride with this actual core, all in for next year or tank for the future. But trying to keep the core players, And tanking is for me unreasonnable and impossible and playoff are likely to be made.

We are not likely making the playoffs this year. You move the assets you can this year which are the secondary pieces and not core pieces. It frees up cap and roster spots to fill next year to make another run. I think they'll want to make a strong push next year as it's Chara's last season. He'll you could use the pieces however minimal acquired this deadline to add at the next or at least to offset for next year

Sell guys who aren't part of the team going forward.

Buy guys who might be able to help you in the future.

That would be my strategy.

Yes, that makes sense. But Bruins management has been far from showing common sense so far in terms of player acquisition and sales.

This is definitely the year to sell anyone and everyone who is not a "core" player going forward. Get back players who can help, or picks/prospects for the future.

Bruins Management should be careful. They let Connolly go and another goal and an assist tonite.Someone is misjudging pieces in Boston big time.

I think they should tank but I don't think that's to hard to fathom with the way the players are going

I know this is sacrilege around here but I won't be upset if they lose every game from here on out. They aren't making the playoffs and that would mean we get a new coach.

I won't root for them to lose but I won't be too upset either.

Sorry LadyFan :(

I would never want to see that and I don't see it happening. They likely don't make the playoffs, but I can't see this group, with the leaders and combined experiences of those leaders just giving up to get a beget draft pick for next year.

c`mon, Connolly is now up to a whopping 11 goals and were PO`d that he was not part of the solution moving forward?

I actually thought he could be. I liked what I saw from him. Heck Bergeron had his most productive year with him on his line. I would take him over half the forwards on this team.

I didn`t mind his effort level and I`ll say one thing, Bergeron having his most productive year, IMO, had almost zippo to do with Connolly flanking his right wing

Yea as others are saying he could have been part of a solution. A 20 goal pace at 850k is pretty good value. Beleskey and Hayes with their 5 goal pace at a far higher dollar value... not so much.

It's those types of gaffs that have added up to the product we see before us.

And many here saw his potential. He was very effective with march and berg. Chia s dude went to waste.

Unfortunately it came down to Hayes or Connolly, since Connolly was a free agent Hayes had to be the choice.

While the Bruins should sell in the position they are in the standings, they have nothing to sell that other teams will want.

Get as many picks/prospects you can for:

Moore
K.Miller
Liles
Two of Hayes, Nash, Schaller (need to keep one for the expansion rule)

Play the youth and evaluate what you have for next year. Then, reassess before the draft and that's when a big roster move could be done.

I don't want the team to purposely tank and I know they won't. My point was that I won't be too upset if they finish in 13th instead of 9th.

Chara is the play.

Why?

So they could sign the great Riley Nash?

They could of qualified Connolly and retained Hayes.

You who would be a nice right-shot option on this team right now.

Brett Connolly.

Sweeney had a multitude of options here. Once again, he chose the wrong ones, plural.
