That 29 year old would be our 3rd best player

Sandin is not good enough nor important enough to say no to JT Miller

Sandin + 1st + Abramov level prospect for Miller would have been highway robbery for us

They must have asked for Sandin + Knies + 2 1sts at which point the deal becomes bleh

While it would be nice to add a JT Miller, I just wonder if its worth it if we're talking about long term? How could we afford him now and even if we could fit him under the cap, what would we do after his current contract ends? How could we afford to resign him or are we just going to let him walk after giving up significant assets for him? Or are we going to trade him this time next year at the trade deadline to try and recoup some assets?

From a long term perspective I don't see why we would do this deal when we have some young guys who might be able to fill some of the spots on the team very soon. Who knows? Maybe Knies can impress so much that he makes the Leafs next season or something so I don't know why we need to make a deal for a guy like Miller even if he can help now.

the whole TSN/SN argument is so 2015

when SN covers hockey they do it well, it's when they let in the CBC is when thing deteriorate, but TSN has their own kind of warts
I actually don't really have a problem with the current TV contract. We got nightly national televised games instead of just a couple games a week on TSN(unlike SN, they have a lot of coverage of other sports), PBP used to be an issue with Jimmy boy and other mediocre guys covering the Leafs games. It's no longer a problem since CC decided to join SN. I do agree that their in house production especially the pregame and intermissions are unwatchable.

The more I think about it, the more I feel Reimer might make the most sense for us at this point based on who's available and the expected acquisition cost.

Kerfoot is quite aways ahead in points production and Rakell is hurt atm

this "kerfoot is ahead in points" is always brought up as if Rakell wouldn't be ahead of him if he had this situation.

I'm not hating on Kerfoot but he's just not as offensively skilled. And a much better goal scoring track record, I really want finishing talent.

didn't know about his injury tho, fair play

Kerfoot is just so vanilla. Not overly skilled, not physical, average defensively. Would love to upgrade him and that 2nd line LW slot with a “specialist” of any kind.
