I figured it would be Stankoven/Bourque and a 1st. They are already thin on defense so I can't see them giving up Bichsel. Maybe Hemming is included too if an extension is set already.

Carolina doesn't need D anyway. They're pretty deep there and will have Morrow & that Russian kid playing with them next season.

They could use more talent & size on the wings. I assume that's why they wanted Rantanen, but they're also pretty thin at center. Staal & KK aren't exactly high performing offensive players leaving only Aho as a true top 6 center.

They have Nadeau performing well in the A, but he's another small winger.

Jarvis too is undersized (5'10).

The day the Oilers got Ekholm, that was a very weird day, because the Oilers went out and acquired what they actually needed.

Since then it has been return to normal; the moves have become even more random.

I'm sure a Walman-Klingberg pairing will go beast mode in the playoffs. Throw in Skinner, Arvidsson and Savoie up front and it's a can't miss for the cup this year.

We need to draw a clear line on who is worth to invest. The real solution could be A) a guy who fits the age group or it could be B) 2-3 years stop gap. For me, Cozens, Duchene could be fit, but Zegras or Donato are not the solution. No more Dach or Dvorak experiments. If we cannot do it, just stay patient and wait for Beck, Kapanen, Hage.
