On the flip side, Turcotte does absolutely nothing for me. I still don’t understand why he went fourth overall.

Went fifth overall, but I did forget and now remember that Hawks fans haven't liked him since they went Dach instead of Turcotte.

He's had a good tournament. Don't know what you are watching. He was great in the last game, and has been solid the first and third games. Also getting a little unlucky having hit a few posts in the Austria game and he had a few very good shifts on two of the goals scored today without getting credit for a point on either goal. He could easily have 6-7 points instead of 3 so far. He's done a great job in the transition game with creating zone entries. He also plays a key role adding a center of the ice, net front and straight line element to a team with a lot of perimeter offensive players.

Disappointments - Amirov, Podkolzin, Caufield (game 1 & 2 only), Byfield (looking good against Switzerland tho)

Standouts - Topi Niemela, Trevor Zegras, Tim Stutzle, Jamie Drysdale, Noel Gunler

Of the 4 Slovak U18s on the roster, Juraj Slafkovsky (2004) and Simon Nemec (2004) have received their fair share of attention and appear to be first rounders in 2022. Filip Mesar (2004) hasn't had much opportunity to play. The one that has been a nice surprise is Šimon Bečár (2003). He is second among Slovak Dmen in ice-time (17:05 min/game), paired with captain Samuel Knazko.

At this point in the tournament, aside from the obvious big names, I’ve liked some of the draft eligible kids, Brad Lambert, Matty Beniers, Juraj Slafkovsky and to a lesser degree Stanislav Svozil.

Some lesser known drafted prospects I’ve liked; Santeri Hatakka, Brett Berard, Jusso Parsinen, Semyon Chistyakov, Maxim Groshev, Henry Thrun, Brock Faber and Noel Gunler.

Disappointments, I’d say; Alex Turcotte, Robby Jarventie, Vasili Podkolzin, Marat Khutsnudinov, and Topi Niemela.

No he's been noticeable, he got a primary assist and has made some nice defensive plays. A much better showing then his previous two games.

Update: 6 points now.

Update: I've been updating this all night lol.

Niemela a disappointment? Excuse me?

Niemelä has been one of the best Finns during the tournament..

I believe Juraj Slafkovsky is not draft eligible, he won't be until 2022.

Niemela a disappointment? Were you expecting Heiskanen?

I havent seen Byfield play much before this tournament but the stuff I've heard/read over the years compared to what I am seeing now is completely different.

He has done absolutely nothing for me so far. I never judge a player by the WJC, but all I'm saying is that he definately doesnt look like a extremely high end prospect at all these games I've watched and I have been extremely disappointed

Edit- he is redeeming himself a bit now during this game lol

See what people didn't realize about Byfield was that he was an elite level prospect/player while being incredibly raw. The Kings took him for what he could become, which is a top 5 center in the league. They 100% made a good choice even though Stutzle is ridiculous in his own right.
