Will come down to who has the best game on Thursday. It's between McDavid, Crosby, Guentzel, and Hellebuyck imo. Eichel has a shot too if he has a big game, he's been excellent.

Crazy that injured 37 year old Crosby is leading the tournament in scoring so far.

I predicted the top 3 scorers in the tournament would be:

1. Crosby
2. McDavid
3. MacKinnon

Sticking to that prediction, with Crosby to MVP. I also think Crosby is the MVP leader as of right now, though that's a bit closer. He was by far the MVP of Canada's 2 combined wins imo, even though he wasn't great in game 2.

If Crosby leads/tied for the lead in points + Canada win, he will likely get it. He is the captain, leads in points, and will get added credit for the injury.

If Hellebuyck doesn’t have a bad game + USA win, he should get it. His GAA is 1 and SV% is .957 lol.

I could see MacKinnon, McDavid, Werenski, Eichel, or Guentzel all getting it if they have a big game and their team wins.

Crosby and McDavid are more deserving for Canada.

If US wins, I think Hellebuyck, if Canada wins, likely Crosby, unless something crazy happens and someone really steps up.

I agree...Makar has been awesome, but he's missed a game and doesn't have a single point. I think he'd need to come up big on Thursday to be in contention.

He all but stole the Canada game. Once it was 2-1 the US went into a complete d zone shell and were content to ride Hellebuyck for all 20 minutes of the 3rd.

He didn't really have to be that good honestly. He only made 25 saves, and a lot were from the outside or one and done.

There weren't enough games to determine a sure thing as a lot of players had moments. Really it's going to come down to the last game. For Canada, it could be any of McDavid, Crosby, Mack if any of them break out. For the US, it's equally as tough but, since the brothers missed time being hurt, you have to exclude them unless they do some kind of miracle hat trick night. I think Helle has been one of the most consistent reasons they are where they are so I think I would give it to him
