Torts hates the new NHL at least the players who seem to be entitled, soft and out of touch with reality.
The NHL has created this by trying to keep up with the 'Jonses' as have crazy hockey parents that have created these mutant robots.

This has been a problem building for decades now. I know that people love the speed and offense over the last decade plus, but removing the redline has had a trickle down effect that has led to a decline in character and integrity in the game.

By removing areas of physical contention and placing an emphasis on skating and puck skills, players who relied on guile, leadership and intelligence to cover for a lack in pure physical skill don't get the same opportunities that they used to. They aren't in favor for drafts at all levels of the game.

I would much rather watch a sport where players of incredible ability persevere through tight checking and physicality to shine than the current version of the game that reduced conflict so players of lesser skill look like stars too.

Tortorella is a larger than life character. When he's gone people will say they miss the good old days with guys like him around. Like everyone like that he's gonna have his fans and his detractors, but even if you hate him you should appreciate that there's guys around who give you enough personality to actually hate.
