Demands "professionalism" and all these other ridiculous things from his players, sets arbitrary standards...but can't be bothered to suck it up and dress properly behind the bench, himself. The epitome of it was with Vancouver where they had to put a cot in his office so he could take his naps and not have to drive hours home and back every day, because it was costing him coaching time.

This is exactly it. Torts is just a hypocrite. Whenever he sees things he doesn't like, he cries about "respect for the game" and "being old school". But if there's some tradition or practice he doesn't like, he just won't do it.

The hilarious part about Torts in Vancouver is that he refused to live in Vancouver...or Canada altogether.

What does "craving the spotlight mean"?

Talking to the media?
Not caring about certain norms?

How would you rather want him to be?

If people would just stop being cowards and openly admit that they don't like his face or that they don't like him because he's is or used to be the coach of a rival team, or because he said something about your favorite team that was anything but praise I'd at least have more respect for that person.

But every single time I see a Torts threat pop up I see the same baseless bullshit about him.
The guy is actually pretty down to earth and f***ing normal compared to the majority of weirdos we have in the NHL.

He may have worn out his welcome in New York but I'll never not heap praise on this absolute gem of a human being.
The work he has done for dogs and the work he has done with people who suffer from disabilities tells me everything I need to know about him.

And in a circus full of clowns, this man actually is a lion tamer and the clowns don't know how to handle it and start crying about him "seeking the spotlight".

Who cares what the coaches wear? NBA coaches have ditched the suits for years now.

So...you'd rather have a coach cut practice short and spend less time at the rink and working with his staff so he can spend a few extra hours a day traveling to and from work? If anything, having a cot in the office shows more commitment, not less.

Not crying about anything, nor did I comment on him as a human or a coach. Torts has never coached one of my team's rivals nor has he said anything negative about my team to my knowledge. I didn't say I dislike him because I don't dislike him. The way Linda Cohn talks about me has me convinced he's a good dude as a person. Just simply pointing out that he's got a reputation for being especially tough on players who do anything to the detriment to the team, yet he seems to lead the league by far in these little "look at me" moments for coaches, even before the hoodie thing. He doesn't seem like he'd tolerate a player doing the same this consistently.
