“@KatieStrangESPN: #NYR According to a source close to Tortorella, he was NOT heading into last year of deal. Signed an extension during seasonâ€

Canucks fans say a lot of things. The Canucks recent playoff woes have more to do with Kesler's injuries and the Sedins pulling a disappearing act than bench management.

There are only so many adjustments you can make when your two best players are identical twins who have to play on the same line together to be even a little effective.

We watch the Canucks play 82 games+Playoffs a year, while you likely watch them play less than 20. AV simply was unable to make in game adjustments, he was fairly stubborn for that matter. NYR doesn't need another Torts, they need an outside of the box thinker like Boucher.

Superman couldn't win us the cup, with these players.

As always, it falls on Sather.

As Melrose pointed out, earlier:

We don't can't compete with the lineups of Pitt, Blackhaws, Kings... and our stars didn't even show up, which makes it twice as bad.

But let's make sure we lock up Zuccarello haha UGH

EXTREMELY fair point.

Maybe Gaborik signs back here at the end of his contract. Who knows?

Imagine that! Would be great if he regains some of his form and killer instinct.

Yep, until we get more forward depth we're not going to be able to compete with the big dogs in the league. Pyatt-Boyle-Dorsett is a joke of a 3rd line, when Boston has Peverley-Kelly-Seguin, Pittsburgh has Morrow-Sutter-Cooke, Chicago has Stalberg-Shaw-Saad, etc.

I don't know a whole lot about him. Was just thinking about the Steps/McD connection.

I think he more or less lucked into a WJC gold. His coaching the year after left a lot to be desired. Not a fan of him, to be honest.

I didn't realize until I re-read that post that I came off like a dick. My bad!

My condolances With Your avatar, man.

geeez, it hurts to even glance at it.

Hope you had a huge reward if we would have played the pens ;)

Actually it relates to this thread. My opponent would've had to change her name to Sweet Torts Lovin'.

Once again, we have overrated our homegrown players into thinking that this team is good enough to compete for a cup.

We simply aren't even close.

Scotty Bowman couldn't win a cup with our group of forwards. We aren't good enough. We won't win until Sather is gone, and by then Henke will be retired.

Haha, I didn't take it that way. Or at least, not much different that the usual Jonathan surliness.
