Before I get ripped to shreds for this, I figured I’d take a stab at it. Since WPG is most likely moving Scheifele I think this could be a good return for them.

To Toronto:
C - Mark Scheifele
C - Adam Lowry

To Winnipeg:
RW - William Nylander
LW - Nick Robertson
3rd Round Pick in 2022

Leafs get a great C and move that dud JT to wing and a 4th line shutdown C, and the Jets get a nice scoring winger to build around with Dubois, Connor and Ehlers as well as a good prospect attached. Flame away babyyyyy.

The Jets downgrade twice, to two players they don't need and get a 3rd for their trouble. Do you seriously think this is fair?

Any suggestions how we adress our centre depth after this trade?. You have a follow-up trade idea for the Jets that would accomplish this?

Maybe we need one catch-all thread? “Fix the Leafs” or something like that? This is another attempt to “fix the Leafs” that is very unfair for the other team. Fixing the Leafs isn’t going to be Nylander moving; it’s going to be Matthews. He’s their DeRozen who could bring in what’s needed.

Scheifle and Nylander could be an okay starting point. Then you throw trash in for Lowry.

Switch Robertson to Knies. The 3rd to a 2022 1st (27th OA).

So Nylander, Knies and 27th OA for Lowry, Scheifele + 2022 3rd. And now you’re looking at fair value. Gotta hurt a little both ways.

That addresses zero needs for the Jets and no chance the Jets trade 2 centers for two wingers, when the main winger coming back is a downgrade from Scheifele and gets paid more.

Winnipeg has no reason to sell low right now.

When I saw the title and the poster icon with a Leafs sweater, I knew I would have a good laugh when I opened up the thread.

Proposal did not disappoint rofl.

Wow, did not think I was that far off but I didn’t know Jets fans valued Lowry so highly. I do think Nylander, Robertson and a 3rd for Scheifele is fair. People and mostly Jets fans are going to be very surprised at what they get for Scheifele if he is moved.

"People and mostly Jets fans are going to be very surprised at what they get for Scheifele if he is moved." -the most overused line after a proposal is rejected, also people always seem to forget that trades are about more then just value

And take out the pick from Winnipeg.
Nylander + Knies + 1st for Scheifele… Jets still pass.
Nylander is soft like Charmin and we have zero interest in him.
Knies would be ok, but not as the main piece in the return.
The 1st is late so isn’t a huge value piece.
Any Toronto offer for Scheifele would be beat by multiple teams right away

Based on what the insiders are saying, not Jets fans, insiders are saying the demand for him would be huge from many teams.........so yeh some fans will be surprised how much he returns if traded. The point is, Nylander & Robertson hold good value, just aren't needed by the Jets who already have a very strong winger group.....so trading a 1C for yet another winger(s) makes zero sense from a Jets POV.

Is the value bad of your offer? No, not IMO........but the fit is terrible for the Jets. TBH if that was the only offer the Jets received (obviously it wouldn't be) that included a roster player........I would sooner trade Mark for a futures based offer of picks & prospects........Nylander just fills no needs on the Jets what so ever.
