I think this might be the most physical line-up the Habs have dressed since many years :

Prust
Moen
Parros
Subban
Emelin
Murray

Add to that big forwards like Pacioretty, Eller and Bourque, and smaller guys who are not afraid to get their nose dirty (Gallagher, Gorges), and it's reasy to understand why the Leafs have been physically outmatched in the first.

We should always dress the big boys, we play bigger and meaner, while also sitting Bourque for White. Then we'd be perfect.

I hope we don't see the same story we see every game against the Leafs aka dominant first and then fall apart in the second to only have to battle back in the third

They really are dreadful. But they are missing some key pieces and the Habs defense wasn't so hot with Emelin out.

EDIT: Well, they're missing Franson. That's one piece. They're missing key piece.

True. Plus their offensive game is not helping at all either. They aren't playing a dump and chase kind of style, they're relying on a winger with speed to carry the puck in deep, which has been failing for the entire first period. Only one to blame right now is Carlyle. His game plan sucks and sticking Orr out there after the Pacioretty scored was laughable.

Not always. Against teams like Bruins and Leafs, on home ice, I'm okay with having them on the ice. They're doing good. But against faster teams, especially if we don't have last change, I wouldn't be so enclined to play them.

Don't get your hopes up too much.

This Leafs team has been putrid though....

They are really quick to get rid of the puck, that's killing their game for sure.

Leafs are one of the worst possession teams in the league. They have great scorers but little depth and a pathetic defense. What works against a team like the Leafs that's focused on distracting you with cheapshots while going for fast counterattacks isn't going to work against more well rounded teams.
