I recall being at the Scotiabank center earlier this year and watched the Leafs beat the Bruins 2-1. Leafs are 4th overall. You would think they were 24th reading this thread.
Dumb shit aside, that Ekholm trade was a piece they desperately needed and it has masked a lot of the awful that is Nurse. It will not take much to win the West. I think they can do it with McDavid on fire. I'm also happy for Hyman, so I'm not firing shots back. Good for him. I noted at the time I would have paid the price for him and dropped Rielly when he had higher value. I think more people would agree with me now with the state of LW and Rielly being a bottom pair capable defender.
I would say this is a game where the boys need a response for the last game they played against the Oilers. While it is important to adjudicate the efforts of all players, I just can't understand what Keefe's priorities are. It is a given that the top dogs are going to be taxed due to the 11/7 lineup. Beyond that, they are putting chains on M&M by putting Kerfoot on that line. If the team loses, he will share the blame with M&M even though they both will have to have an extraordinary effort carrying Willy Mays Hayes on their back. If they win, he will justify his love affair for that plug who forgot that the puck needs to go in the net. This is all about making Kerfoot look good and not helping his team win.
Makes sense. Mathews has been the Leafs 3rd or 4th best player this year. If fans can’t tell something is wrong health wise they are out to lunch.
I’ve got no problem with Hyman being celebrated, he’s a great complimentary player to the super talents. I wish they would have found a way to,keep him. Ekholm was a great add for this year, he and nurse will be north of 15 mill for the following 3 years so it’s not without risks.
