Thanks, just checked my guide as well. The games, even if blacked out do appear in the guide, always have.
If it shows on TSN4 and SNO it is regional for sure. In past years though, they had not blacked out the pre-season games. I am thinking the blackout rules apply only to season games. We'll see come Saturday I guess but I kind of expect it to be watchable from anywhere in the country provided you have TSN4 or SNO.

Ya this makes sense and jives with what I recall also now that you jogged my memory. One way or another I'll be watching it not too worried. Every year it's the same story though - you end up scrambling if you're out of market and want to watch all the games.

It's so frustrating that they don't have an option to let you watch all the games through the TV. I used Centre Ice for a while but the games would freeze or be 1 min behind, and I have a fibre 75 mbps connection. I'm happy to pay for it, it's inane they still block out games though and force you to use substandard services.

I don't think TSN is allowed to show any NHL games nationally, this might still qualify I guess.

Thing I like most about exhibition games is that it gives the eye test I need to watch the newcomers and prospects. Also gives us something to debate. So many questions regarding Barabanov, Lehtonen....can Boyd or Andersen fill a role? Should Sandin and Robertson be in the lineup? Most of all. Is Thornton worthy of first line and first pp duties? Can’t wait to start forming my opinions. Oh and then there is Simmonds, Brodie and Bogo. So many new faces. Let’s go !
