agreed but I do think Montreal is playing them perfectly. The gap control against them is incredible. Matthews has one defenseman shadowing him at all times in the offensive zone. There just isn’t enough space.

oh shut up please. Nylander is every bit as good as Matthews and Marner. Some may even argue given the same ice time as them he’d out produce or match their production. I don’t get why it’s a shock that Nylander may very well be the best player on the team. He’s proving he is capable of that.

Willy is easily the best transition player on the team.

They are up against the teams best defenseman. The whole point of having depth is for situations like this. When our big guys are getting shut down you need a guy like Nylander to step up.

It’s impossible to hard match against a player, especially guys like Matthews and Marner that are playing the minutes they’re playing. About a third of a player’s shifts start via face off, that’s really difficult for a coach to be on top of.
