Today could be the day we win a playoff round for the first time in 17 years, and not since 2004.

We haven't beaten Montreal in a playoff round since 1967.

Our former Atlantic Div rivals Boston and TB are already through and resting for round #2.

Under the former playoff format we would have been facing one in round #1 and the other one likely in round #2, and now the prize for beating Montreal is a match-up against Winnipeg.

I agree, the boys have certainly answered the bell to adversity with flying colours. Plus in games 1 and 2 MTL was playing dirty in my opinion with so many after the whistle hits and cheap shots.

Yeah, I saw Hab fans begging the Leafs to put them out of their misery. Guess they're as sick of watching this as the rest of us...
 
I haven't been alive long enough - what's it feel like when we move past a round?

Should be happy or just act like we should have won?

Just win I don't care how. The last time I felt the joy of winning a series I was 11....:( I want to feel that again. LETS GO !

Every game is important. Winning the cup is long grind so the less you play, the less beat up you'll be when you get to the final.

LOL. I have to say this series is getting boring, I almost want to jump ahead to the 3rd round when we should have some exciting hockey (apologies to Jets fans). I know I probably shouldn't look that far ahead but I can't help it.

So, here's my speech to the Leafs:

You've matured as a team during the regular season - it's been a night and day difference in attitude, demeanour and response to different situations that we've gone through in the regular season.
IN THE REGULAR SEASON.

Now we have to show we can do that exact same thing in the playoffs.

We already faced our adversity and conquered it - lost the first game, came back very strong, struggled through game 3 to pull it out despite playing against a very hot goalie, and now we are here. Ready to win the 4th game.

I don't have to repeat the platitudes and so-called empty words about how the last game of a series is the hardest to win, because you already know it. Excluding you rookies, many of you have gone through it on this very team the last two or three years, on both sides of it. And those that didn't go through it on this team, have gone through it many times before . . . For Jumbo and Spezza, that was back in the days of the dinosaurs! (light laughter)

Grab this moment of truth guys . . . play like you mean to end this.

No reason to believe we don't win this tonight, should be humbly going on to round 2 and preparing for the jets after tonight.

Just don't go back to Montreal where they'll have fans (even though 2500 is basically nothing)
