Yup, not much Sandin could do there.

Holl has had a terrible pre-season and doesn't look good when he is not beside Muzzin.

It’s good to know Muzzin gives Holl the boost to be a decent 4th defenseman but that role should be wide open for someone to grab it.

Seems like Sandin’s offensive game will be quite a bit ahead of his defense but question is can he avoid those high profile goals against whether it’s getting beat on the foot race or scrambling on a two on one in effectively. Granted a Dman in that position is often bag holding for something else that’s gone terribly wrong but you can’t start your career as a turnstile either.

Nah. If Liljegren didn't take the shot or the pass too, he should be criticized too and he's had moments like that too.
The team left Sandin out to dry which is correct, Sandin then made it worse.

I would serously try Liljegren with Muzzin for the first 5 games and Dermott with Holl. And if the issue with this lineup ends up being Justin Holl, I'd look to move him and get Menell up here...

He could have done more. We saw a lot of blame go towards Rielly for failing to stop 2-on-1's, and Rielly played most of his 2-on-1's better than Sandin did there. Rielly at least comes close to stopping the gap; Sandin may as well have not been there.

Should not have been a 2-on-1 in the first place though.

also, you’re critiquing defensive play, yet ignoring we played in arguably the best offensive division, and had top 10 defensive results in the league. And this is in spite of Andersen playing terribly
